>SPIDER ISLAND CONFLICT STORY SET UP.

Some time in past, who knows when, on an icy and rather useless 250 km pile of rocks came a conflict that started out between two local tribes but escalated into a war between the Tsardom and the Eastern Fleet.
Background: Basically NijiJP whalers and yeah whalers have minor outposts on the island, opposite sides and the two tribes gravitate to each one. There ends up being a problem when the Eastern Fleet sets up a minor stopover spot there. The two tribes end up fighting over this and call their friends in.

I'll figure out why the Eastern Fleet does this, I presume just because of the location.

I was towabois thing about their government. And have some questions....Are they hivemind like borg/tyranid invasive hivemind or more like they all just think very similar. Also been debating on having the biggest tribe be near /towa/ specifically centered in Gaputan since that would be the main contact point. Possibly something akin to a united tribe alliance or something? Wouldnt take up a massive region but lets say maybe 10-20 tribes all uniting together under one identity who really like the towa bros.

I'm the other kenzoku, not the towa rep but I'll give my own thoughts. The hivemind is less of the ones you would seen in fiction and more of a mental radio frequency network where information can be eavesdropped but is only legible if you're part of the receiving "chain" of recipients so to speak.
I apologize but I don't quite get your second point, are you suggesting the largest tribe would be located to close to the /towa/ thread and be on good terms? I don't mind, personally but the main issue that I see assuming I get what you're saying right is that the area between Gaputan and /towa/ is that it's densely forested, trade would be slow and cumbersome even if the longer route following the less dense western half was taken IMO. Still, I'm just spitballing till my rep comes in so take all of this with a silo of salt

A hypothetical scenario would be if some vote came up and talks beforehand lead more in favor of a certain direction and then halfway through the vote suddenly you, Alice, Emma and Mepper came and voted without any explanation why for the complete opposite in unison. I agree. This is one of the reasons I usually type out my reasoning behind my votes. Not everyone needs to participate before hand, but if nothing else things can be explained. I think it would be useful to have some standard, that before something becomes a vote, to have a period of discussion beforehand. Have it become part of the anchor for voting, so people know what potential topics are to be discussed for next vote. And if something really does not evoke a response from people at all, then maybe it is not something of enough importance to be voted on yet after all.
For example, the vote to name the ocean seemed to have many people that simply voted for it, to have it done and actually didn't really like some of the names at all but just wanted the vote to be done with. Should that then really have been something to be voted on at all?

What do you guys want in a voting conduct agreement? I think the following should be had

I think discussions should be opened up earlier, not everyone is here daily and only drops in every few days.
There is also another thing I would like to bring up since I mentioned the Ocean vote. To those that create the votes, please actually try to be as impartial as possible and actively look for the suggestions of anons. The Ocean vote only gave on possible name to vote for when actually many other names had been suggested beforehand, the Stellar Ocean being one of the more noticeable once, yet they were not included as options. Leaving out suggestions of people, even if they can theoretically be named itself in votes, really skewers the vote in the favor of the listed options. For that same reason, I would suggest to not have someone create the vote that is somehow affected by one of the votes coming up.

Regarding the amount of provinces, the provinces near the equator are much larger than the ones near the poles, so the number of provinces should depend on the territory's area as calculated by the interactive map imo. As for what that area should be, I think 2-3 equatorial provinces would be reasonable.
Further province splitting... On one hand, it feels like it would break the purpose of the province system, which is not having to re-draw borders every time. I feel like this might mean we should be cutting up the provinces into smaller bits, so the reps have more control.

Endermen being some ybc schizos is extremely fun! There are quite a few countries where chuubanite overdose leads to becoming a schizo, so this ties /ybc/ nicely into the rest of the world. I think the tissue repair should probably turn weeks of healing into hours instead of seconds, the former is somewhat plausible, but the latter is accommodate with real biology, cells would have to multiply many times per second for something like that to be doable. That would remain an advantage and maintain the spirit of the minecraft mechanic while fitting a bit better with the rest of the world.
Also, the enchantment system is great, a nice translation of what it does in minecraft. A general thing is that the active enchantments would need to be refueled once in a while; when they do something, that would consume some of their chuubanite. How often exactly depends on the enchantment and how much you use it. It doesn't have to be a difficult process.
Most of the enchants are good to go. I would modify feather falling to say "Increases friction with air significantly", as that is how you'd achieve this effect with real physics as opposed to MC physics.
Also, Vanishing and Loyalty should require a chuubanite glyph on the user themselves, so that the enchanted object "knows" what user to return/react to the death of.
Ah, and at the start, I would change the first sentence to "... Yubicraft is home to one of the largest and densest concentration of chuubanite in Vitubia." Just so this doesn't contradict someone's future entry about their country having a fuckload of chuubanite, we try to avoid absolute statements like that.

Yeah, I will readily admit it's a bit of a struggle to come up with names that both feel distinctively "Deadbeat" to my autistic mind, and that are actually easy to remember and differentiate from one another. I'm always trying to balance my urge to dump exposition with keeping a scene moving, so I'm happy to hear I'm managing that decently. As for inspiration, I can see where you get 40k novels from, I've read and enjoyed a bunch of those, and I do have a preference for 40k-esque character archetypes. Though I can never reach it, the prose I hold as a gold standard to strive for is Frank Herbert and GRRM.
And yea, I write out character personalities, relationships, and arcs before I begin, even if those end up changing a lot as I write. Those are very rough though, they're just strings of keywords "Aloof, perturbed, wants a promotion, hates Samuel", stuff like that.
I also write bullet point outlines of the individual chapters to know where I'm going with them, those tend to be very useful for breaking up the chapter into manageable parts. A trick I use a lot to get through the intro of a chapter is to look at the first important "event" of the chapter (That can be a meeting, a conversation, a fight), and write the intro while keeping that event in mind. Basically, have the intro build up to that event. Or, you can do a cold open, and skip all the pleasantries and have the chapter begin with the event. Even if it's a bit shocking to start in the thick of it, you can always introduce your setting and characters after that event, once you've got your feet in the door.
