Looking at the W/L ratio of /morig/ doesn't really tell the whole story. We've never lost by any significant margin and actually looking at matches, a lot of them were very hard fought. We were the runner-up for teams that didn't make it out of groups in the first League. Our starting keeper is also statistically among the best in the league despite the team never moving on to knockouts.

I have seen some people joke about /meat/ using /vtwbg/ and divegrass to become champions and gain support to return to the board, just like how /ybc/ did.
But how did becoming champions help /ybc/ to be welcomed back to /vt/? I just don't get how becoming champion helped them (and maybe help any of the other exiled generals) to be allowed back in /vt/.

I think what a lot of people miss in all of this, was the context.
/ybc/ had existed undisturbed on /vt/ for well over 2 months before being ordered to remain in /vm/. And even then, the reasons were flimsy at best, with mods saying "only screenshots of vtubers allowed or you're out".

Around august of 2021, when the /vt/ League was first proposed, there were only about 8 threads who were signed up, and the organizers were a bit desperate to hire any thread up for the task. Because a yubicrafter was already helping them with graphical stuff, he suggested the idea of using the then exiled /ybc/. The team was just meant to be filler, like /become/, /towa/ and the first /nepolabo/. That's not to say the tteam was low effort, /ybc/ went to great lenghts to make the team as appealing and fun as possible, packed with references and OC like hyps and special chants.
By sheer chance they happened to do really well and I guess social pressure from all the spectators rooting for them ended up convincing the jannies to allow them back on /vt/.
Is true that /ybc/ "earned" a ticket back onto /vt/, but the reality was that they were already an established /vt/ thread before the exile.

Nowadays, with 32 teams up and going, that kind of opportunity isn't present anymore, and the context of said deleted threads isn't the same as what /ybc/'s was.

I joined /ybc/ during the first /vt/ league, but from memory /ybc/ had a shaky lifespan where they would have threads on /vt/ either last til bump, moved to /vm/ or just deleted one the spot. It eventually came to head where the thread moved to /vm/. During /vt/ league 1 they came back to make a thread and have stayed ever since.
