A gargantuan one-shot that's been haunting me since March, three series (about to be four because of my next WIP in line), one of which hasn't had an update since December and my myriad of other WIPs, most of which I've had to shove aside. I guess part of why my writing has slowed down recently is because I've been reading a lot more books, and always end up feeling more conscious towards how my stories hold up to those that do this for a living, which leads to a lot of second guessing.
And yeah, I know it would in theory be more effective to focus on a single story but when there aren't any ideas or motivation for a fic I'm writing, I'd rather move on to something else and keep writing than completely stop and bang my head against the wall for ideas that just won't come.

That said, I'm surprised we don't have any summer festival stories (at least to my memory) despite how low-hanging of a concept it is, and also considering how prevalent it is in anime. If you're after some summer fes fics I can only think of Cover High, which is leading up to a big summer festival, and I also vaguely recall a Mio story about having a nightmare and waking up on her lap that might have had something to do with summer festivals, I think. I'd love to see one myself and have no clue why I didn't think of such a good idea until now. Must have been the holos showing off their yukatas that awakened it.

Honestly only bit of critique I'd say is that you have this paragraph

That breaks into A-chan pov when the fic had mostly stayed as limited 3rd person from Mel's pov prior. I feel like this is a pov break that doesn't really work and you should have just stuck to keeping it from Mel's pov.... Again this reminds me of similar paragraphs from some of your other fics which makes me have to ask... Is this just a product of your fast writing or do you think that pov breaks like these work?
Because the shining example of this that I can think of was the Kronii therapist fic where the fact that civia was being deliberately manipulative effectively got spoiled due to a paragraph breaking pov into hers.

I think it's just a weird habit I have. I didn't even register that I'd done it at all until you said it. It'll just be one of those things I need to twist myself out of. This is the only sentence I have a problem with because "on the chair" feels redundant as the reader already knows that Mel is already in an interview and that she's sitting down. Other than that everything is written well and the dialogue is easy to follow. My next criticism is more of a personal gripe if and can honestly be written off. Mel is super OOC. Here you've taken this strong woman, who not only reported her creepy manager but even went to japanese keemstar to make sure his ass was fired, and turned her into a passive victim that lets A-chan molest her. That's like writing Ina as a super macho tough guy. I get why you chose Mel but that choice falls flat on its face and in my opinion diminishes the quality of the story. Nodoka would've been a better pick.

As for that habit, honestly that feels like something you should catch in editing rather than writing. Since writing the rough draft is when you're supposed to get all of this out then smooth it out into being readable afterwards in the editing process.

Finally read chapter 6 of Cover High and holy shit was it incredible. The fluff, the romance, the drama, the way the dialogue flows through the scenes, all of it just hits in such a way that makes me want more. I would say that it was worth the wait but I'm afraid that if I did then the next chapter would come out by the time I'm dead so I'll just say I'm glad you're back.

I love the way you wrote 3rd gen's interaction with each other. It felt so natural that even with Astel, Moona, and TS all there, it still reads like something they would do and say. I would say that some of them are a bit over the top but with them not being the focus of the story, it's actually for the best since all of their dialogue has a unique "voice" to them that differentiates them all from each other which was incredibly fun to read and picture in my head.
The meeting with Headmaster Yagoo was also done incredibly well and I'm not ashamed to say that TS's speech at the end made me tear up a little bit. I guess it's kinda weird to say since this is a 2nd person self-insert story but the characterization of (You) is genuinely one of the highlights of this series and seeing him open up and grow as a person was heartwarming to say the least.
I was also surprised by the Pekora POV portion with Moona since I didn't expect you to commit a large portion of the chapter to their relationship but I'm glad you did because it was a joy to read and experience especially with Pekora's thoughts sprinkled in. It also made me tear up for a second time which either tells me you're really good or I'm just in an emotional mood today.
The jokes were also pretty funny, not much to say other than I chuckled a few times here and there.

Also I'm honoured that you picked First Summer Memories as the next book to give to Pekora. Might be a bit on the nose like TS said but I hope Pekora enjoys it nonetheless.

I'm pretty confident you can do it too, anon. When in doubt, try watching clips to get an idea of their general behavior and then fitting it into an archetype. It might lead to them seeming a bit flanderized, but so long as they're just supporting characters it won't be such a big deal if you don't get them 100% right. Just remember that this is chuuba fanfiction. In order to perfectly depict them you'd basically have to watch all of their streams and be able to understand them fluently. Nobody will blame you if you can at least make it 'close enough'.
