Retards got bored at one point because they were lacking material for bait threads, so Ayame was perfect beause she stopped streaming that often, and dedicating herself to her IRL issues. She carried Hololive from the early days (gen 2 is still early, just saying for overly pedantic faggots), and after a while company grew big enough so some of the senpais could take it easy or even retire if they wanted. Ayame is still a part of the Holo family but she is NOT under the same contract that your first year girl would be, so she is not obliged to stream X hours per week. Hololive has tons of members at this point, it's perfectly fine for some of them to stream games more regularly, and for others to mostly just do "idol"-type stuff and only stream occasionally. It's not like we are lacking content.

At best, Ayame would dip into the top 5 on occasion but she was mainly mid tier and jockeying alongside Subaru, Mio and Okayu. I had a similar situation with Marine last year being my oshi but I got tired of her self inflicted absences constantly throughout the year that I moved into watching others. I'd go as far to say that not only has Ayame never carried Hololive, she has never even carried Gen2. That has been done by Aqua earlier on and more recently Subaru. Hell I think there might even be a fair case to be made that Choco came closer to carrying Gen2 than Ayame ever has way back in early 2019 when Choco was at her peak relevance before Cover and Youtube destroyed her momentum.
