I have 2 theories that are current being test out thanks to holoEN members and their management.

This theory is tried and tested in nijiJP and the hypothesis turn out to be true. We just need to see whether it can be recreated by holoEN and starsEN. So far we are seeing an incline of Regis in terms of subs and Nowa is still ahead among his peers. Now we just need to see either Kronii or Kobo to be constantly collabing with males to see the effect on the subs of the girl's side. We can test it out on Bae, Mori and Ollie too but their result might be less significant
>2. Diluting the distinction between hololive EN and holostars EN will reduce the prestige of hololive brand overall
EN management is pushing hard for "hololive = holopro, you didn't know?" path to promote holostars EN since its inception. HoloEN twitter even became holoproEN twitter just to muddy the water even more. My hypothesis is that by doing so, the hololive lost is distinctiveness in the market and is prone to losing regular/loyal customers as it will slowly become "just another vtuber corpo" in the west. This will in turn hurt their revenue and even worse, let their competitors find rooms to grow. With Project Kawaii resembling what holoJP and holoEN themselves getting close to nijiEN in terms of content, I am seeing that both companies will be able to siphon customers from holoEN and even starsEN. Of course, the vtuber market is still growing so if I want to see the effect I cannot just look at holoEN's sales growth, but need to look at it in relationship of other companies' sales growth.

All in all, these 2 theories require quite some time to test and we need the talents and management to stick to their guns in terms of what they are doing now. Some might say they are destroying hololive, but for me it is an opportunity to do science.

People see Niji males get way higher numbers than the girls and then assume that the boys get advantages from the girls and the girls lose fans because of male collabs.

In reality, the decline of Nijigirls is more likely due to Hololive blowing up and being the de-facto group to watch for female vtubers.
Even then, most of the strong Nijigirls (Sanbaka, Sasaki/Shiina) didn't decline that much, they just didn't incline either so their numbers look bad in 2022 compared to Holos, who have massively inclined.

In NijiEN, most of the girls numbers were bad from the start and some are slightly better now so idk where this whole "females are accessory to the boys" thing comes from when from the very start, they already had worse numbers than the boys.
