Well what I would do is make a sub header similar to the prompt recap posts, saying the date of a deadline where as many stories as you can write would be published in a pdf.

So September 15th is the deadline for the first issue of the /vt/ magazine, any story of 500+ words can be submitted and then the best would be included. Or all of them included. Then I'd put them in a pdf and see if I could convince the Draw thread fags to add art.

I got to play with the build of the upcoming Dall-E, and I always like running religious symbolism through an AI generator because theres something bizarrely meta and ironic about an image making an image of an image, and I would run the same sort of lines through it every few rounds.

It's incredibly naive to think that the AI acts any different. The AI can draw things you know in different art styles too. Do you even realize what means? It's never been done before. We humans, our special touch in art, is our art style. The AI can make never before seen or created images if you tell it to.

What people fail to realize is that AI is an emerging form of consciousness. People don't want to accept that at some point, some program in a metal box will be as conscious as we are. I don't know if it makes you insecure or what, that you want to hold yourself as special. That's because we ourselves hold consciousness with too high of a standard. Im not of the opinion that painting has to be full of meaning, after all it's just painting, but if you look into the metaphysical aspects of what Odd Nerdrum is doing or even just the normal painting controversies like "Are the peasants praying in the field in the Matins portraying piety? As for consciousness: we can't define consciousness. There are arguments over whether every atom in the universe is conscious on a level from 1 to 100 and there are elimination materialists who believe we are not conscious. According to Marcus Aurelius's definition of consciousness computers have been conscious since maybe 2003.

When GI is finally created it will not be like us at all, comparing our processes of cognition would be like expecting the biology of a creature that evolved to breathe the liquid methane under the ice of Titan to be similar to the human genome. So whether or not AI will ever be conscious or not is not something I'm interested in discussing because theres no definable goal post outside of asking if it is conscious. People like Yuval Harari and Elon Musk and even Jeff Bezos overstep their bounds when they talk about this shit but I really don't care, my original point is that in certain contexts AIs use thousands of copyrighted images to generate a picture, and because of the machine process being effectively the same as copy and pasting a picture this is going to be a legal issue at some point.

We've been playing around with microprocessors more than a lot of people realize, weve already found the bare minimum number of atoms that can be used to store information. We could be running into an actual hard limit on physical machines in a few centuries.

As others pointed out, what humans create is ultimately a function of the millions of experiences they’ve had over their lifetime, which could easily be broken down into audio/visual information and fed into a machine. With enough exposure, a machine could have “lived a life” and create something original from those components.

Yet I think there is something missing from that formula to create art: preference. When you write, you’re choosing what to focus on in terms of theme, subject, and style in a broad sense, but more importantly, you’re choosing to highlight facets of life you're personally interested in. You could spend paragraphs detailing the weight and feel of a handgun, you could go on and on about the beauty of the human foot, you could fill pages with nothing but your adoration of summer weather. Within your story, the stuff you’re passionate about will bleed through and mark your work as your own. And I don’t know how a machine will ever have a “preference” or “affinity” for anything unless it’s fed that information with an explicit “Yes/No” flag attached to each item. (Which of course would have to be curated by, you guessed it, a human.)

What I’m saying is that AI couldn’t take over any creative process because fetishes are indelibly human.

The writing is fairly decent, though you should experiment a bit more with your sentence structure. It's quite monotone, not really conveying the tension of a mystery / thriller setting.
For example: Instead of...

Your concern with Fubuki being replaceable is valid, but that's often the case - especially for shorter pieces. You could try to work her mannerisms into the fic, but even that's difficult when there's hardly any dialogue.
