alright so this is what i wanna go with, the purpose is to have quantitiy over quality so i have more smaller ships while having less ships of the line, we are a wealthy nation of our own so i think this seems reasonable:

**Ship-of-the-Line**
1 1st Ranks
3 2nd Ranks
9-11 3rd Ranks

**Frigates**
25-35 4th Ranks
50-70 5th Ranks

**Corvettes and Brigs**
70-90 Corvettes
50-65 Brigs

These numbers would be supplemented by 100-200 Merchant ships that are constructed in a way to function as Frigates or Corvettes in time of need depending on their individuell size as well as unclear number of vastly older ships tha the Retro Reich still maintains but would be vastly outclassed by modern ships and would only play a supportive role in times of need.

the numbers are also vague on puepose of the nature of our nation so us having the "maximum" ships in all categories is not happening, it is to account for both ships that might gotten sunken out at sea or damaged to a point that repairing them will take forever as well as Onobots building new navy ships without telling the Navy or taking ships away on their own whim also without properly tellign beforehand, making it a logistical nightmare for the Navy to keep precise numbers of ships at the ready.

i am sorry but i do not care if the thread disregards all the stuff i say about my nation. from the very getgo i have always stated we are a naval power, our landmass being mostly coast also supports us having a strong focus on maritime culture. and the navy is the backbone of what protects our nation so having it be jsut some run of the mill navy makes no sense sicne we bank a lot of it in a case we get into a war with /indie/. Fun fact, a big part of why I don't plan on ever outlining the exact size of the Black Fleet is because I know it would just be used for timeloops and for people to numberfag their navies in relation to it.
Another factor is that the size of the navy varies quite a lot year to year.
Another is that the size of the Fleet would depend on the enemies threatening us, and quite a few threads joining the project are our sworn enemies in-lore, which means I might have to recalculate a sensible size for the fleet whenever a new thread joins, which would both be a pain and cause timeloops.
The Black Fleet is the size it needs to be to fulfill the roles asked of it in the stories it is a part of.

it is also not my fault that saldy my continent is mostly repless and thus i sadly cannot write a lot of stuff in regards to that. i have tried my best to adhere to the rule of not making assumption on relations with unrepped nations. i could have written so much in the past to our relations with /lig/, /tsun/, /nina/, /wvt/, /yah/, /pyon/ ect based on how our threads interacts with them or is aligned with them but i didn't because i do not want to limit reps of those nations in designing these nations freely without having to worry about potential lore gettign affected by that on my side.

Please clarify how obsolete most of these ships would be. And also clarify how many of these modern ships are there, these things are important for others to know the actual strenght of your navy.

From your short description you seem to be describing a Low-High mix navy as described by Zumwalt, I recommend you research that to find why it seems to have issues.
This would be massively expensive, I mean, really fucking expensive. Keep in mind that the european empires had large interconnected colonies all around the world that generated them money to pay for naval mantainance, especially the british in the 1800's who had all of India and were carving out China, and the spanish in the 1600's who had large amounts of gold from the Americas to pay for it. The Retro Reich has no overseas colonies and its diplomatic interest is situated relatively nearby. In addition, such costs would probably represent itself negatively in the Retro Reich for any other service payed for by the government.

A big navy is not necessarily a good one, the Retro Reich should ideally have a navy suited to its needs, I will not argue against your naval size, but please do review what is the goal of Retro Reich's navy and what its purpose is, along with its modernity.
I'll also add this, going for a large navy is sort of pushing for a naval arms race, the Retro Reich having a large navy will make other states around it jump up in their numbers. And they'll have a stated reason for it too.

second, we actually might have a colony soon together with /nasfaqg/ tho discussion about that was not started with the intent as justification for having more ships but because of the cool lore potential it would provide.

third, i did not start a naval arms race, i have based my own numbers off of /2434/ and tried to create a strong navy that is still weaker by having more smaller ships in contrast to them having 67 ships of the line in contrast as well as having established that their ships are super modern with naval tech even eclipsing the current tech level of 1750 by some decades.
i also already reduced my numbers in the rentry and our navy as of right now would be somewhere between 195-240 ships, most of these being on the smaller size.

as for the state of our navy, i cannot really give much there, this was actually what i wanted Panon's intake msot but i just got numbers for ships and i am no milautist so i cannot say much but they would certainly not be on above average in tech/power level, i personally want more ships that are older in their base design or odler ships heavyily remodeled to fit with the Retro theme and not jsut have the most modern ships in all regards.

As shown in the climate map, /lig/'s climate is predominantly humid subtropical (Cfa), which is defined by its relatively hot summer (above 22°C on average, although it's not uncommon for the southern part to hit above 30°C) and a lack of distinct dry season (relatively speaking - you still get more rainfall during summer, but winter rain is not too uncommon).
Be noted that subtropical climate is a relatively wide climate zone (from New York to New Orleans, and from Mackay to Sydney), and /lig/ covers pretty much the entire range of it. As such, while they have similarly hot and wet summer, winter will be noticeably different on the extreme ends of the country - snowfall will range from somewhat common in the north to very uncommon in the south (see the places named above for a rough reference). That said, it's still a rather habitable climate (it's the most populated climate zone on Earth) even if the high humidity can be unbearable for some - you can reasonably grow a variety of food crops from rice to wheat.
As for the natural environment, like most places it will be mostly forested by default, with the ecoregions being divided between subtropical moist forests and temperate broadleaf and mixed forests. The two are fairly similar in composition, with deciduous broadleaf trees mixed with evergreen conifer trees. Due to the former shredding their leaves during winter, seasonal change is observable, and the high humidity means the temperature range can feel wider than it actually is. Depending on the local environment and human activities, some places might be deforested and instead being grassland with patches of woods in between.
As for geology, most of /lig/ is a mixture of geologic platform, deformed basin and extended crust. What it means is that most of the surface rocks will be sedimentary in nature, such as limestone, sandstone and claystone. If you want, you can have a significant chunk of /lig/ be comprised of karst topography - well-weathered limestone terrain with significant cave and underground river systems. Based on existing hydrology (you can change them if you want), I would say the south is more likely to have karst terrain due to a lack of major surface rivers. The rugged terrain is quite scenic, although also difficult for people to traverse, and the soil condition might lead to the development of unusual plant species adapted to the high pH soil.

alright this is what i cooked up for our lore in regards to petra-anya:

Soon after the tribes were united under the Onobots, the land was struck my several Cyclones in short succession. This led to the destruction of much farmland as well as crippling many tribes that got hit by the worst. What followed was a period of great unrest. The migration of survivors to other tribes and the lack of food led to starvation and death all over the land, bad hygiene and corpses made this even worse as disease spread like a wildfire. The nation was in shambles and the Onobots lacked the knowledge to support the people appropriately. Help from tribes outside the Nation also was sparse, as they kept to themselves and tried to avoid the land as to not invite problems to their own homes. It was in this trying times that a light of salvation came from a far away place and the nation of anya-petra provided much needed aid from across the ocean. They brought food and medicine to the land and sold it at a huge loss for themselves, they even went so far and allowed some Dreamweavers to migrate to their own lands, lessening the mouth to feed in the Retro Reich. Nah, we always had something like those. I liked the thread more a couple months back, simply because it was a smaller and tighter knit group, and now the thread is a lot faster and it's harder to keep up with everything going on and befriend everyone.
