Vtuber who primarily reads books/VNs/study-streams and consequently summaries of the material read. Good idea, bad idea?
There would be a lot less chat interaction but it might prove enjoyable to lurkers who only listen to streams.

A. Listen to it more so that you get used to it. The reason majority of people hate the sound of their voice is because the way it actually sounds isn't the same as when it you hear it while talking.
2. Get into voice acting to expand your range or alter your voice to something you find more pleasing. Its a looong journey but doing so can pay dividends in the longrun
3. Like other anon said, futz with your EQ settings. it can really make huge difference and is a skillset your gonna have to learn anyways.

2&3 have a ton of tutorials on youtube. Just be aware its a process and takes time to learn and you should be fine.

Yeah, and game publishers spent good part of the last 10 years claiming videos, DMCAing and copyright striking youtube channels/streamers until they figured out they were fighting a losing battle and decided to put down some streaming TOS.

Also, don't count on obscurity to protect you, the "booktuber" world is actually small. If you grow your audience they'll come for you - and trad publishers are just as old fashioned as a the record industry.

yes. you can very easily set this up and set hotkeys for changing expressions. it's about an hour of work max I'd guess.
this is how to do it:
load the psd with different expressions into live2d. free version will be sufficient.
use parameters to change facial expressions. you can use the opacity tool for this. the png can be quite sophisticated if your parts are separated properly and you can have a png with eyes that blink when you do/ open mouth when you do.
save when done and load it into live2d viewer.
set parameters as expressions and save.
load into vtubestudio and set hotkey expressions in settings.

essentially it's a gonna be a very very simple vtuber rig and is perfect for starting out.
would I recommend it? no. just use discord reactive images. it's easier on your cpu. but if your pc can handle it go for it.

I think youtube tends to recommend you more to people while you're streaming, and from there they might end up watching your VODs and sub from there even if they're not interested in what you're streaming at the time. You have to deny you're using emulation as far as I know, at least unless you can prove you own the method to play it legally and are just doing so because of issues (like old games just not fucking working anymore). It probably wont come up, but just because its an old game doesn't mean they're using an emulator. I'd suggest making sure to use an actual good emulator though just in case. Like using bsnes/higan instead of zsnes.

>>3129504
For speedrunning, IIRC a lot of times emulators are either not allowed or discouraged due to how it would change timing. Especially with any disc-based game since loading from a harddrive would give a massive time increase due to load times and whatnot.

Oh goddamnit. I'm still on a waitlist for my artist and wanted to see if I could get IV to rig it once it's done, but likely his commissions won't open up till mid May at this point. For me at least, I'm not doing this for the money but I'm the kind of person that likes to opt for "good quality" stuff when doing hobbies. The roughly $5k USD I was planning to spend won't impact my lifestyle, though of it is still a notable amount of money to me. But of course the amount you can part with is different for anyone. People hopefully don't spend their life savings on this hoping for a quick return on investment. Though I'm sure there's some here that are. I just want a community of people to chat with. Honestly, outside the planned $1k for art and $4k+ for rigging, I haven't really bought anything yet. I already have a mic and capture card from my previous stream work. However at this point I'm considering whether I want to do more heavy lifting. My computer is currently in the living room, but I live with my SO. They are into this kinda stuff too and its how I've always streamed so I don't think it'll be an issue, but I've been thinking about buying another PC (since mine really needs an upgrade anyway, at least in terms of CPU) and putting it in the spare bedroom we just use for storage right now, and using that as the 'work room'. Right now, more toward editing, but only because I spent less time on it. There is a big aspect of how editing contributes to storytelling and organisation, but there’s also a realisation of how tiny editing things (like cutting out dead air) make for a huge difference.

Bought a logitech c920 during xmas time when it was cheap. Never touched it until today. This hunk of junk can't even recognize my face without the eyes glitching out due to my glasses and it's too late to return. Messed with every setting possible. Super high brightness lights beside me too just in case if that was the problem. FML

Yeah I believe one of the polls was about even for male/female people, though there's been some since that were less useful. Should probably do another one sometime that has the options again:

>male as male
>male as female
>female as female
>female as male

I know they aren't scientific but it is interesting to see how it changes.

>>3186915
I've always used OBS Studio myself. Streamlabs OBS has issues and its only advantage is with some paid streamlabs stuff. Forgot XSplit existed, it used to be the go-to if you wanted to pay money for streaming options, but that was long before OBS was near as good as it is now.
