I think that depends a lot on the definition. I think the best way to describe what I like in a Vtuber is more "passion," maybe? I think those two concepts are similar. I like people who have passions, and get excited about things when they talk about them. People that get invested into games while they play them, try to do their best while on camera, and treat things like they're happy to be there, doing their best. So I value "genuineness" in a Vtuber, sure, but I think it's part of the equation for me, not the whole thing.

You put on your mask and hope to be a certain "side" of yourself, but that's not usually the entire person. So do I think I'm seeing "all of her," in terms of the genuine thing? No, not really. The girl who calls herself IRyS is gonna be different from the girl who lives off-stream. But do I think the difference is vast? No, not really. I don't think any of that side of her is a lie, so I think she's genuine in that regard, but I get that it's not all of her, in the same way the me who talks to my friends is different from the me who talks to people here. Same person, but different "faces."
