The

The /meat/-/vrt/-/lig/ alliance of Fuck Corpos

>> No.31690102

>>31689519
I never thought about it, but there will probably always be more indies than corpo chuubas in reality, makes the whole /meat/ thing about overpopulation strange in hindsight.

>> No.31690369

>>31690102
Because at least in theory, indies can drop dead much easier than corpro chuubas, so despite outnumbering the corpro, they're still in harmony with the natural order of things compared with the seemingly immortal corpro chuuba.

>> No.31690372

>>31690102
not really. /meat/ opposes corpos because they aren't forced to go through the life cycle as much as indies and /meat/ chuubas (who are indies). consider how much effort it takes to be popular as an indie vs being part of an established company. it's the stagnancy of corpos that we dislike, though i'd say we are tolerant of anyone who is tolerant to us as a matter of honor.

>> No.31690430

>>31689969
Maybe so, but at the very least /lig/ doesn't talk about 2views as a rule. It's true we go all the way down to 100-view chuubas, but there's still some standard when it comes to number of worshipers.
I can't believe a whorca and a gayboy might be our most powerful deities.
Which makes me wonder about whether I should handle the relevance of gods by how often they're posted about in the thread rather than viewers. Maybe a combination of both

>> No.31690508

On another note, while working on the main /uuu/ overview, I've been researching the implications of Moriji's supervolcano exploding. I don't know the strength of its eruption, so I'm using Yellowstone as an assumption for a comparable impact. Let's just say there's a reason civilization collapsed so suddenly the moment all chuubanite stopped working...
I could definitely see the effects of Mt. Mori's eruption being evidence of a battle between Amiia and Wo'sun in the Ame land's religions.

They should have gotten mushrooms from Era After Watoto instead...
I think other nations would definitely notice something, an eruption like that would literally be heard in /ameg/, large eruptions have been heard from thousands of kilometers away in recorded history. Plus, it would probably result in a notable tsunami on coasts in the Holosea. I can see why it would be interpreted as the result of some divine battle.

I think that would be the case. If you win a war, the people will double down on the 'divine emperor' belief.
If you lose, well it could go both ways. The emperor might be deemed 'lost the mandate' or the enemy, of different beliefs, will be declared the evil described by the teachings of your faith. Mutating into a holy war of revenge.

Ok so still phoneposting while eating breakfast, but here are a few quick questions: you mention elders of the cult a few times. Could you explain a bit more on what that position would entail, as well as how old they would generally be(mainly so I flesh out the side characters appearance)? Next, how many other cultists would be present at the first breeding session a new recruit would get? And lastly, would you receive a lot(or at least some) of female initiates from outside the village? Namely Selenium, because yeah...
And one bonus question: If a new initiate, a bull specifically, joined the cult after, let's say for example losing his memories due to an accident, and then regained those memories and wished to leave the cult, could he? After he would have already spent a few years in the cult.

>Elders
I use Elders more to designate their position rather than their age, so I would put them anywhere between 20-35 or a little older, if you'd like. I envision them more as the "founding" members of the pregnancy cult than anything else so I guess that means me, huh? rather than parents/grandparents of any of the cultists. Really just the girls who have been there the longest and started the cult; it would be great to do an origin story someday involving deflection from the Holy Kingdom... perhaps an exiled girl and a couple of friends/fellow exiles?Fun to think about. The role itself is largely advisory and they aren't *required* to get bred the way the other girls are, but they choose to because, well... everyone in the cult wants to be pregnant kek. Getting to breed one of the elders is a high honor granted to political diplomats or trusted visitors (ie repeats) rather than just some random Joe.
>breeding inauguration session
I envisioned 5-6 girls in my Onobot story. Enough to feel like an audience, but not so much it feels like a crowd, I guess? Anybody directly linked to the girl at the center of the ritual is definitely present, ie her "buddy" from the buddy system idea I talked about: >>29453138
>Outsiders
Lost, wayward, exiled, etc. girls are always taken in and, at the very least, nursed back to health. Young/around childbearing age is preferred.
>Leaving
You can check out anytime you'd like, but you can never leave. Okay but for real lol no, you can't leave. You'll be threatened within an inch of your life if you even suggest something so preposterous and, if you're especially willful, defiant, or, worst of all, disrespectful of Vox, you'll be six feet under before you know it. It's not like the military where you do your time and then you're free to go, if you're brought in and given the honor of breeding cute Kindreds and serving Vox, then you'll continue to do so until you either become impotent or die. I imagine breeder bulls are expected/required to help with defending and guarding the village too... it's not like you're gonna put pregnant women up in the watchtowers kek

Lord. Just now realizing how much I have to eventually dump into a rentry sometime; I have countless ideas and I feel bad just dumping them here in posts when I'm asked rather than having a rentry doc ready to serve as a reference. Hopefully soon!! At the very least I'd like an overview before I work on specifics ie my buddy system idea.

Okay!!! But I don't think ancient Japan had anything like a "Mandate from Heaven" to justify the Emperor's rule!!! Well, it was made to legitimize King Wu's government, so it was more of a political maneuver than anything!!

Kek definitely not quite as creepy as the Midsommar scene, though that is an incredible scene cinematically. The girls are responsible for the foreplay; who better to ease the new girl in and help her unwind than the girls she's around all the time and grew up alongside? The guy's really only there for the "main act," leave the foreplay to the girlies. Mmm. A slutty pile of girls just enjoying each other and kissing each other so sweetly.

There's a favorite quote of mine from christian symbolism that I think applies a lot into your cult!!!!
>'In this perspective, we come back to the most precise topic of this book, the church is not only a *monument*: it's a *sanctuary*, a *temple*. It's goal is not only to <<gather the faithful>>, but to create an environment that allows Grace to manifest more wonderfully; and it achieves this to the extent that it manages to drag, channel inwards, in a subtle game of influences, which has an end - communion with the Divine -, the flow of sensations, feelings and ideas. The sanctuary of great epochs - and it is to him that we must refer to collect a teaching according to the principles, eventually applicable to new productions - is an <<instrument>> of recollection, joy, sacrifice and transcendence.'
I think it sums up in a good way the objective of your cult I think!!!!

True. Needing a mandate is redundant when you are of divine blood. So far the only ones I could think of to challenge the emperor's divinity are buddhists like the Ikko-Ikki.
But having a shinto style-chakravarti would be a neat idea. The leader needs to be proactive in governing matters and holds a huge population. Meaning no bureaucrats, absolute power, and whatever decree they do, it will impact entire cultures fot centuries to come.
Ironically, based on this definition the closest you could have to a Japanese Chakravati would be the Showa Emperor Hirohito.

Hi /vtwbg/!
I was thinking about Palkyrie weapons before sleep and picrel happened, so I wanted to ask if it would be fine for Palkyries to be able to hold shield with their tail. It won't be anything heavy, probably something around the range of large buckler to heater shield
I don't think the tail would have the grip for centergrip so it'll have to be strapped. Bashing probably won't be effective but it would still be good enough to deflect blows from weapons like swords, spears and maybe arrows from lighter bows?

How big are Palkyries again? And it really depends on how long their tails would be and how articulate they are. So it depends on the purpose of their tails in the first place. Rather than a 'large" buckler or heater shield s normal sized buckler would still do to redirect the blow, which would make more sense than straight-up redirecting since I doubt the grip would be as firm as their limbs even if they're strapped.

>> No.31708331

>>31708055
I'm not sure how using a shield with your tail would be like, since normally you'd leverage your whole arm and shoulder into it I think. Maybe something akin to buckles could with focus on redirecting rather than halting? wonder if they did anything like that in Redwall

I wish I was good at drawing…
At least in my dream it was strapped on the tail and can reach a bit less far than the hand, so it's similar to how a human hold the shield. Palkyries being smol means that a shield like that will cover proportionally more of their body and make them even harder to hit effectively by baseline humans, since most melee weapons IRL are meant to target upper body and sometimes thighs. That said, the main benefit of this would be allowing the Palkyries to use both hands for weapon while still having shield for protection

>>31708292
>>31708331
It'll be for redirecting since tails are probably weaker than arms, and holding up a shield would probably put it at a weird angle to make full use of its strength. As for Palkyrie size, I imagine the average to be around 4'6 for men so about a foot shorter than baseline humans at the time, but the number's still tentative
The tip of the tail might be more nimble which might be useful for other purposes. I'll report back once I get more dreams

While the various city states that preceded the formation of the Owl Republic host relatively advanced Metallurgy for their time, metal production underwent significant change over the years especially as an adaptation towards the relentless warfare and aggressive centralization to direct the war effort which both affects supply and demand.

Before the Century of Ravage, two iron smelting processes dominated the Lands that would become the Republic. Bloomery in the East and Blast in the West. The adaptation was influenced by the difference in quality and availability of geological resources and society in the two parts. The relatively high quality iron ore in the East allowed the continued usage of bloomeries which had a relatively older history. The lower amounts of impurities in the ores allowed for continued use of bloomeries, where the slag can be easily removed to reveal the smelted iron. But the method was not stagnant. By the time the Eastern states were brought into the fold of the fledging state, almost all registered smelteries were of the improved type, with water powered box bellows and hammers. While the more laborious process of bloomery dominated the East, the availability of Limestone in the region and high amount of impurities necessitated the development of blast furnaces. To maintain the higher temperature of the furnace, other than the introduction of bigger bellows, the use of chuubanite which increases the temperature of the air blasts was also introduced in the bigger smelteries alongside some early attempts at making metallic bellows. Both of which are noted to be significantly earlier than the more modern attempts at increasing the quality and quantity of the metal industry. As you would notice, both parts of the land use box type bellows. Carpenters in the Eastern border with the UUUing Forest were an important provider of excellent bellows, which produces a higher air pressure than the leather bellows commonly used in homes and smelteries of other contemporary nations. *For a detailed account for the bellows-making trade in the region, Waldrek's book Lungs of Fire is an excellent work on this subject. However, as the war intensified, many smelteries were cut off from the supplies they relied. To satisfy the demand for iron, changes were made both on a wider, state level and local level.

Although the bloomeries were more than enough to meet local demand, the need for more arms and armor pressured the authorities in the East to build new blast furnaces, which, while consuming more charcoal, allowed for bigger batches to be made at a given time. The ironworkers were also more unified by a state organized guild system which had not existed in the East, where a more personal system of apprenticeship was the norm. The ironmasters and officials of the West faced a different predicament. Without the abundant supply of charcoal from the lush Eastern woods and the forestry resources stretched, the furnaces can not be kept firing. Thus the process of coking was gradually introduced. Local coal, often from exposed veins is mined and worked in specially built furnaces. The use of Chuubanite in the refractory material and as a heat source is noted in various records. The coke relaxed the demand for charcoal and allowed iron with lower carbon content to be produced. The usage of coke still remained after the war had ended though its production was not expanded together with the demand for metal in the following decades, especially as the resume of the charcoal trade between the two sides of the country. Though the retention of many coke-works and the knowledge is the main reason the Metallurgical Revolution between the 1040-60s was so rapid, as scholars and officials are already aware of the potential benefit they provide for the new processes that were developed.

First bits of the metal industry of /who/. Sorry for not posting much despite promising to post things this week. Was a big distracted by my own civ duties and playing MonHun with friends. Need to do even more research for some of the later parts that I have planned. Also started to use (or pretend) the format of writing lore as in universe text. Don't know if it's a good idea though. When I start to rework some older entries I might do the same treatment for them

It documents the evolution of that first species of bird over the course of a few million years iirc.

I feel like each of the four people might have a different convention... A good way to get something unique sounding but low effort is to do a bit of a fusion, if you'd like a tip. Maybe you could have one language that all four draw from, and then that language is combine with a different second language for each? Hello!
I think armored tail looks nice! However, I feel shields might be more practical in this regard since while parrying gauntlets exist, a shield should be able to cover more area of the body than it. The idea of attaching a parrying dagger at the end of the tail's still intriguing tho. I think shields are also better at absorbing kinetic energy than armor which can be handy when the Palkyrie has to take the blow
Only tangentially related but the tail armor idea makes me think of Palkyrie armor designed to enhance its utility. Maybe Palkyrie armors designed for more ambush-oriented purposes will have something like construction worker's safety harness with the tail sleeve connecting to a hook that the tail can attach and detach onto something like a tree branch? Most adults probably are too heavy to actually hang on trees by their tail alone, but a harness like this should help distribute the load and allow them to hang long enough to (literally) get the drop on their target below

Not trying to be a schizo, but I am not a fan of these cliquish behavior I am seeing from Nijireps. Maybe its just me but I feel left out of their discussions and that they aren't interested in ours. The docs thing has only made this worse, because I feel like it is us being cut off from what they are doing. Not to mention I do not approve of how the whole 2434/nijimales thing is being handled. Kind of was put off when Alice attacked Roseanon for not being supportive of nijireps when they seem to not care about him in the first place since they all took the side of newbud and never interact with him. I am not saying this is an old vs new thing, more of me being disappointed that things aren't run by this thread and some posters aren't respected like they should be. I never for example see meatbros thanked by them. Could be just my perception, sorry.

Well maybe. Although I wasn't very active recently I guess I'm guilty to a degree, even though I do try to give feedback to the NijiAnons and New anons when I have any. Sometimes it's hard to interact when you aren't familiar with other's lore. When there have been more active participants than ever keeping up can be a hard thing to do. And I wouldn't particularly lame anyone for it even if I share the same sentiment to a degree. Personally don't share as much concern on the private doc however as things would still need to be posted here first to be archived. So anons would still be able to catch anything they think is problematic.

Hmm, I see, you raise good points. However I will side with my bonebro here and say you should go balls to the walls with it and make a full evasion build, attaching an extra blade on the tail. What use is there in armor if the target is dead before it even notices? MORE DPS!!!
Also, while the hook on the tail would definitely be helpful, you also need to consider the downsides, like getting caught on stuff at the worst possible time. You will like it when you drop down and ambush the monster, but will curse it's existence when it gets stuck on a branch when you are running away, inches from the monster's jaws.

Well, with complete, blunt honesty, the main thing is that /2434/ has set itself up to be one of the stronger factions with many vassals, a huge overseas colony, and one of the biggest navies, and now that nijimale is active it has effectively immediately absorbed it as an ally, merging their naval militaries and trade activities even though they're two separate threads. I thought about it with the "parrying dagger on tail" idea, but since I intend Palkyries to use polearm (something bardiche-like) more often than not, having the 3rd arm also be used for attacks might be a bit too excessive? Especially when their small frame probably makes them squishier than humans but maybe that's just me. I do imagine Palkyrie martial arts emphasizing maximizing momentum with spinning motion though, both because of their weapon of choice and I think their light weight would make it inevitable either way
What if Palkyries use their tail as the off hand for their weapon and hold the shield with their actual hand?

>>31717133
It's a sound idea and I think some Palkyries will want to go for that. Maybe weapons that cover what their main weapons lack, like some kind of mace?
As for the tail hook, I think Palkyrie hunters/warriors will be trained to position their tail to not get it cut/caught, but the risk of it still getting caught due to the hook might just be something they learn to live with (Palkie's design does have a twisted tail…)

>>31717232
I did watch a video about what weapons should flying humans use while doing my research, and it brought up a good point about having pointy shoes as weapons while airborne. I guess a DPS Palkyrie will have a lot of weapons on them to maximize the initial momentum when they pull a drop bear on the target?

Hmm you know I think having the shield in the hand makes a lot more sense. After all, you want your shield to be in front of you most of the time. In real combat, you do most of your attacks while also holding up your shield at the same time, to be protected from counter attacks, so having it in your hand would be a bit more easy for that. Plus, having it in your hand lets you have something like a tower shield offering more protection instead of the buckler. Your right hand weapon would be your main weapon, but your off-tail weapon could be used to exploit a feint executed by your main weapon, or catch your enemy where he's not expecting it, because he's focused on your hands.
I think probably, you would see multiple fighting styles arise, some with large shield held in the left hand + an off-tail light weapon, and others with the tail buckler!

I think given Palkyries' size, something like a heater shield or kite shield will already cover most/all of their body, but it's a good point! I think a defensive loadout against enemy soldiers might be something like
>slashing sword on main hand
>dagger on tail
>shield on off hand
That or having the main hand and tail holding a polearm. I don't know if being ~20% shorter than the enemy makes the reach problem significantly worse…
I kinda want to stick with something bardiche-like since I like how it looks, plus I think it can be pretty versatile
>axe for slashing/chopping
>impromptu gun holder
>pointy end on the other end as spear, probably makes it a stabler gun holder too
>can you rotate it and use it like a bill? adding a bit of sharp edge on the inside can be useful in attacking the back of legs, plus it makes it kind of like a scythe which Liora also likes

Drop bear ambush might actually be how Palkyries and palkies hunt by default! Being able to put their entire weight on the tip of a spear can probably cause serious damage to even armored targets, plus dive attacks like that also fit the insect glaive inspiration well!

Maybe but there might be some difficulties when you try to use the bardiche as a monopod. For that purpose maybe the end of the pole there's an extension that sort of grips the gun when you deeply the bardiche as support. Though it do mean more metal and the forging process is a lot more complicated. Having the inner side be edged might also weaken the weapon structurally. Though not every weapon are the same. Mass produced weapons would be different from custom ordered ones that fit a predetermined purpose. Multiple forms of a same weapon can exist.

Do you think there would be reason for there to be a nasfaqg subspecies of risuners? Who have adapted to be cunning and beautiful as they have needed to negotiate, charm, and fuck their way up the social hierarchy of the serene republic.

We do have native risuners, that is for certain, I'm just wondering if they could be another subspecies or just the existing risuner species.

I like your way of writing lore, as if they were excerpts from some in-universe books. Gives a nice additional layer o the lore written, and makes it feel a bit more immersive. Especially so if you manage to fake a certain style of writing for different in-universe authors. I've got one in mind myself for nasfaqg, but I dont know how to begin writing about him. All I have is a name, Ernest Heiminway, and he would indeed be a heimin living in the Serene Republic, who has made his small fortune through writing.

Unfortunately I don't know much about metalworking so I cant give feedback on the described methods. I do like the idea of chuubanite furnaces and have thought of using something similar in nasfaqg too.

>>31719154
If you have any ideas, you can try bouncing hem off of the thread, share some of them and ask for feedback. I think a good first step is to form a vague general idea of what your nation is like, are they culturally, religiously, or ethnically unified, what type of a government they have (if they have a government), and how they interact with outsiders. Oh, and whether you'll have them lean more towards the magic or the tech side of things.

That's why most of /who/'s lore is written in a kind of dry, academic style since that's mostly what I write outside of /here/...

>>31719565
You would also have to consider how the weapon is forged. Having an edge means you would have to remove/darw out the metal. A bardiche head is kind of shaped and has the thickness in some parts like an axe. If you have the whole inside be edged then the think parts would need to be hammered into shape as well. Even if it's doable sometimes the cost outweighs the very circumstantial benefits a design feature gives. Though I'm not an expert in polearms so there might be some examples of bardiche with an edged inside.

That's two of the reasons I picked polearms in the first place! I like the aesthetic a lot (and since Palkyries are smol people now, I guess they'll need monopod for normal guns too), and reach's probably quite vital when fighting either big monsters or humans I also like pole dancing more than I probably should
As for tail weapon, if we use the same proportion as Virginia opossums, it would be something like 2' long so pretty close to an average human arm, but the tail comes from behind so that might make the practical reach shorter outside turning tails at the enemy during attacks

Yeah I saw some too. Only the tip is edged. Due to how heavy and relatively uncontrollable a bardiche is I don't imagine you would be doing much pulling/drawing cuts using the inner edge. So having the whole thing edged top to bottom might be a bit of a meaningless endeavor which also complicates things as you would need to do extra maintenance to the edge because it's also probably where you would parry your opponent's weapon. Not to mention it's harder to stabilise your weapon since you would have to mind the edge while shooting.

Lioranon grows more based by the minute... I think if you want, you could make the tail a bit longer. Since Palkyries are bipedal, your tail could have a balancing role that opossums don't have, which would result in a slightly larger tail, maybe a bit similar to a kangaroo's.

i was thinking about our potential shared island, in our thread there is a bit of a thing going on about "retro factor" stuff wich is basicly our case of numberfagging. i was thinking of representing that with a shared island in that these would be people from us that are very particular about having the best retro stuff with highest reaction to retro chuubanite and also being the people of our nation that are a bit more money oriented in that they want to sell this high grade retro stuff and present it to people in their resort, something like a huge ikea, to make it more appealing to outsiders and have more potential sales of it worldwide.

i think them being the part of the Retro Reich that care more about money while the homeland is more about fulfilling their desires and just work with retro stuff even if it is not very profitable would also work well with sharing an island with /nasfaqg/

They tried their best…
I think their climbing skill's more due to them having a prehensile tail than pure skills so to speak, although Palkyries are still humanoid so that might help
A lot of Palkyrie's "speed" when hunting/fighting probably relies more on making use of existing momentum, like dropping from above or swinging the polearm around, which is also kind of how insect glaives work I also like that kind of flashy peak anime fighting style like picrel

Let me know if you want any help from me! We'll probably be your most common enemy at sea.
>>31721849
I think it's plausible. You need to be able to carry the charges, so you wouldn't be dropping hundreds of kilograms of explosives with each nephilim, but they could definitely carry sizable bombs. The main issue is that the bombers would need to fly high enough to be out of range of flak guns, and ships aren't such large targets from the top, so the balance would be to find how low they can fly to maximize chances to hit the target and minimize their chances of being hit themselves. It would be a fun dynamic!

Hey, we're villians! Mostly to ourselves, maybe some old Robosa who can't forgive Sio and a one sided relationship with the FPS thread but still villians! Also NASFAQ I guess but I don't really know what goes on there

Maybe, but now that I think about it, haven't a lot of people based how old their nation is on some conversion based on when their first thread was (Jul 19 for /mag/, Jul 24 for /magnoir/, Jul 24 (5 hours later) for /mans/)?
What does VTE stand for anyway?
Also I think I'm going to steal from Esperanto. Most fantasy rpgs both in the west and jrpgs are vaguely based on europe as a whole and as /mans/ is sort of a unification of several different people I think that would represent it fairly well? With minor different dialects between them, too small to be worthy of note (to save me the effort)
