This is a common fallacy in debating. If a contradiction is observed between two things, you search your brain for some other difference between those two things that must be causing the difference. For example "A is stronger than B, he must train more". If you are arguing with me, you would say "it's because A has red hair and B has black hair". You are basically seizing on a difference between these two things and using that to explain the phenomenon, even if it doesn't make sense.
