because, I was actually just thinking about it these past couple of days. I think that Polka feels like a part of the 'old guard', and it's weird to think of her as a junior among the gens previous to 5. behind the scenes i think it's obvious to all what an excellent and dedicated worker she, plus she's a bit older herself. To be fair, Polka is really part of the old guard of vtubing. She is more like a Sora or Roboco. It's probably awkward for some people to treat her as kohai as it is for her to treat others as senpai. Polka has been inviting people to raid her, to test her defenses, and because she just horded so much she's running out of space. Miko decided to give it a go, and blew her way into the entry chamber for Polkas base, killed a naked Polka, and looted some chests.
Before she could get away however, Suisie showed up to kill Miko, which she did. Not sure how Kanata showed up, but I assume she followed Suisei. Polka then gave them some scrap for helping, and to defend her base for a bit, which they did from Miko's second attack. Miko killed Suisei, but Kanata got her. Then Suisei stole Milo's helicopter on her way back.
So Miko left empty handed, and the other three went on a grand adventure into the underground. The end.

obviously we are gonna be massively biased here, but hell we can only give our own perspective on anything in life, after all.

Polka has been in the industry a long time and is quite the veteran as an entertainer, always trying weird and wonderful new things with vtubing. As for her life in Hololive, recently celebrated 2 years anniversary and has really come into her own at this time; establishing good bonds within the company and hitting 1m subs. She is incredibly dedicated and passionate about the life, and always conveying how proud she is to be a Holomem. It's even said that she is a friend to Yagoo, not just another one of the talents, and probably holds quite a lot of sway behind the scenes, with her experience and industry contacts.

You will get some of the finest songs, covers, and karaoke. With passionate and emotional singing, especially if you love idol and vocaloid stuff. Polka is an incredibly expressive singer. She's is also famous for her live shows, even ones that aren't hers, because she is also around behind the scenes helping to produce - she loves idols herself, so she knows how to put on a show from the perspective of what fans would enjoy.

You will get a weekly show, Legend of Polka, which also has EN subs, which is quite unique, pre-produced content. Sometimes just amusing chats with producer/co-host Izutsu (can think of her like Polka's own personal A-chan), but sometimes going on adventures like skydiving and bungee jumping.

Her streams are big on variety, though you can typically expect long sessions of Ark, Minecraft, gacha games, and random zatsus, along with whatever variety gaming is going on.

She appreciates the fans a lot and is fairly active in her member's section, posting a weekly-ish diary type post, along with a monthly ASMR. Sometimes people joke that she is quite needy or yandere with us, though its often overstated... but sometimes...

on that more personal note, and maybe some possible "downsides" - Polka has always suffered with depression and low self esteem, shes gotten pretty good with managing it and being open about it, but it might mean she is less active for a week or so, or posts some worrying things. however part of this I think makes her relatable to a lot of fans who also suffer, it's like a group therapy sometimes. She is also incredibly sensitive to low air pressure changes that might knock her out of action and cancel streams. She tends to not even bother with schedules so you have to stay ready daily to see when she posts a frame. But she's by no means a part-timer, you will get content and streams consistently. Often her way of managing is to do super high energy Karaoke stream and just blast away the pain, it's quite something to behold.

I think Polka just has some sort of 'spirit' that attracts certain types of people. I wouldn't blame somebody for finding some things she does annoying but the melancholic fennec's clusterfuck mixture of passion, energy, ambition and autism all somehow end up adding up to her being one of the most inspiring people online to me. She wants to make people happy and make things she's proud of despite her own struggles. She's also great at telling stories and her soft voice is one of the best things I've ever heard.

I am doing better now, thank you. Some of Sana's merch I had ordered arrived in the mail recently (the 6-month anniversary acrylic stand) and that is what kind of prompted me to finally come back to /vt/ again and kind of 'get off the couch' so to speak.

If I'm being blunt, I am kind of looking for someone to fill the void left by Sana. Not just someone I can throw on for background noise, which is how I feel about a lot of the other holoEn members, but someone I can actually get invested in. So what you've described about Polka is intriguing. Regardless, you can find a lot of Polka content that might be of interest to you, since you just came back I'd suggest you watch her anniversary stream, it was really good. In terms of content going on right now, she's currently on her RUST arc, which even if I don't particularly like that much the game it's still fun seeing her adventures. PolDen (her weekly variety show) is back and it's very fun to see both her and Izutsu back at it again.
Today she is premiering her new MV, so be sure to check it out when it comes (21:00 JST).
Also I can't speak for myself, but Polka has been a good inspiration for a lot of anons ITT (some even say they can understand her, crazy I know), so if you want to practice your japanese she is perfect for it (she's infamous for being a N0 holo, so reps will be your new friend now).
Also since I see that you want to become invested in Polka, may I suggest her membership? From what people say she's very worth it, posting very frequently and she does a monthly "ASMR" (it's a zatsudan but you know what I mean). You could also hear her make her case for you joining in, too:

There is one, Niels M H, but he's not as consistent as he used to be. You can consider yourself lucky if he liveTL's a member-only stream, but regular streams there isn't much translation.

On a side note of liveTL, her last rust streams seem to be getting a few translations, which makes sense because these streams are giving her a ton of viewers, some of which may decide to translate. Anon, I had a similar issue with my bank. It turned out that the card wasn't available for international purchases, see if that's the case.
If that isn't the case, check the limit on your account, and if it STILL isn't that just change banks accounts and never look back, restrictive banks like that tend to be shit.
Also check if you can either buy it from hololive's official site, buyee or geekjack. Try every single one of them, trial and error never killed anyone[citation needed].

Considering you just got the card, maybe they put a low limit, I remember you posting about it a few threads ago iirc.
Try to basically "pay" your card by just giving some extra balance to it, I'm not sure how your credit card works but I had to do something similar when I just started and needed to make some expenses that were above my credit limit. Don't worry though, in a few months they will probably increase your credit automatically (or you can just call them to increase it for you, if you can handle that kind of interaction)

This is very bad about Buyee, having them doing the buying for you is very bad since you basically can't trust them that much when it comes to limited goods, since you have to wait for them to buy these things for you (which takes up do a day, and depending on how limited the goods are, you may just miss out)

I already dropped $100 USD to take the JLPT N5 exam in December so being JP-only (more-or-less) isn't necessarily a bad thing in my eyes, I want more sources of exposure to the language stuff that's on-demand I can listen to while working or exercising.
