This is precisely it. I like Ame and Calli but I just hate Hololive's management structure. They try to force their VTubers to be characters unique and distinct from the person behind them. They literally feel like they are trying to be anime characters brought to life.
I prefer a mix which is why I enjoy Aethel so much. He isn't afraid to RP as his VTuber character and lhe loves doing it so it is awesome to watch.
