With shit like this, if you actually intend to use it for concerts or whatever, then you'll have to wash it.

Also the eyemask: I have the sheep's eyemask but will never use it. not because I don't have a use for it, I use an old airline freebie eyemask ever night, but because I know the elastic will eventually weaken to the point of uselessness and the cloth parts will eventually get grotty.
It's essentially a disposable item.
If you never plan to use it, fine so be it. It sits in your drawer being useless.
On the other hand an alarm clock might have some daily use. Don't know about the longevity of that shit though and I still don't know whether or not the "voice" part is for sure Sora having recorded some lines onto some circuit board.

For certain merch, like ceramics (mugs, plates, bowls etc.) I now always buy 2 as I actually plan on using them and can't bear to face the notion that they might break, either by my own hand or by some other clutz in the household.
But for textile stuff I buy one as I'm unlikely to even remove it from the plastic as I live in a very dusty place. Honestly acrylic stands are the perfect merch for me because but I don't like them at all as I have no use for them whatsoever.
