The actual legit problem with them is that they are way too expensive for what they offer. If you can get one used or on sale, go for it. I got one for like $90 used, still works just fine after like two years. Good starter mic despite the hate it gets. The same people that tell you it sucks will instantly suck Shure SM7B cock just because it's the most popular among streamers. Any cheaper USB mic will do just fine too. Depending on your budget you may actually be able to buy an interface with a cheaper xlr mic that will also sound better. It all depends on what you want or need for your current setup and budget.

But what no one tells you is that it really doesn't matter much and you do get microphone diminishing returns in terms of streaming audio because high price mics thrive in a studio recording environment and not for streaming. By the time twitch and youtube fuck with your audio, people may not be able to tell whether you're on a yeti or a rode mic. Plus filters exist, you can make almost any mic sound decent or straight up good by doing basic EQ filters in OBS. Brand loyalty is a meme, only take information from people that just use equipment for the sake of how it performs and not because of brand. Don't end up streaming using a fucking Neumann mic.

Depends what you mean by ngmi. If making it is defined by doing streaming full time as a job then by pretty much any metric females will be able to reach that point much easier than males will, even with comparable numbers females are just able to get more donations from their fanbases. Obviously not all females(or even most) will be able to make it to this point either but I think the percentages are many times worse for males.

On the complete other end of the spectrum what you might consider ngmi might be having enough of a viewerbase that your chat is basically at least somewhat active at all times while streaming. A lonelyness ngmi if you will. I think most males can make it to this point eventually, however for most it is going to take a lot of work and usually a lot of time as well. Though there are certainly males with enough debuffs that they likely will never reach this point no matter how much effort and time they put in. I find it difficult to imagine what debuffs a female would need to have to not be able to work up to this level of success if they put in the time and work. This is even assuming the female doesn't go the coomer male pandering route, which would make it even easier.

Best advice I can give is start talking to yourself while streaming. Just start doing it. It's great practice to be honest, I've gotten a lot better just by doing only that. Delaying the actual streaming part is just going to hurt you in the long run.

As far as books go. "How to make friends and influence people" is a good book in general for socializing, though it might be outdated at this point and certainly was not written for modern internet socializing, though I think it's quite good for small streamers who have the luxury of having a rather intimate relationship with their chat.
