I couldn't help but check up on the thread for a bit cuz lack of sleep. Tbh I feel really demoralized because of everything. I will definitely still write but I just can't stop thinking about it. Risuners see sapling society as perfect and their magic so fucking valuable I was gonna put one of risus witches onboard the tri fleet as a surprise VIP and pay deadbeats all the money Silvanus had to escort this super VIP to /uuu/ that way we could exchange the deepest of risuner powers for the amazing sapling powers reported. Saplings have trees that fight for them and manipulation of nature which they can use to hide their villages from outsiders. Regarding this vote, the /mans/ stuff that led to things getting frozen doesn't affect 4 and 5, so I think 5 has been properly rejected, but according to the bylaws, 4 needs to be revised before it can be put to vote again since the majority abstained previously. I'm not sure what the deal with 1 is at present, if the rep could clarify when that should be brought to vote then that would be appreciated. But 2, 3, and 6 should be fine to vote on.
I'm also noticing a worrying trend of people building off of proposals that haven't been approved yet, which puts voters in the awkward position of either accepting deals they don't like or throwing away a bunch of work from someone. Of course, asking people to wait for weeks on end before they can work on their nation isn't fair either, but we should try and find a middle ground here.

Forito pies suck if you don't make your own chili. Pre-made canned chili is pure garbage chemicals mixed with oats apparently. My mistake was not making the chili from scratch, which would be meat, tomatoes, hatch green pepper, onions, a bit of garlic, sea salt, chili powder, beans, and Worcheshire sauce. Scenario A: 2 votes for 1 and 3 votes for 4, the swap was passed with 4 yays and 1 nay. /mans/ is placed in position 4 next to /stars/

Personally I imagine the capital being situated on a plain/plateau with 2 or more larger rivers flowing through or near it. It is also heavily fortified, with a series of old city walls still intact, the wider city or metropolitan area surrounded by forts and checkpoints. The buildings inside the walls would be quite massive compared to the ones in the port city due to differences in urban planning (heavily managed vs natural growth), especially the National Library and Archive. You would see more classically inspired buildings but not all of them are just carbon copies of ancient Roman and Greek architecture, so think French restoration style. Since it's closer to the East you would also see more marbles being used.
You should wait for the rep since he's planning the history of /who/ so how the capital looks like would be heavily influenced by it.

While that would put /mhm/ less than 100 years old you can make the kingdom itself older than that but probably not more than 200 years. Alright fine. For now it seems that this Maumigny guy doesn't want to fuck us over. As a precaution I have ordered scouts to watch over his pretty fort to make sure that no bullshit happens but for now I have been spending my weeks exchanging language with him as well as ordering the other risuners to not attack. I decided that if I am to trust him I should probably show it. So I decided to offer him an invite to the village. It was a massive fucking pain in the ass to get him up the trees. Nobody can climb as well as we do so it took some effort but when we finally got him up he decided to talk to our elder. Makes sense since he is on a diplomacy mission.
I made sure to tell everyone to treat him as an honored guest and when he came up to meet everyone people were very nice. Apparently he didn't realize that we don't actually have one so I was gonna say Pasuma but he insisted on Silvanus for some reason. First off we need to get to Panrong since it is directly on route and will give him a sense of how big our major cities are. From my understanding, other nations have much larger cities but Panrong is still very well developed especially with all the stone they have from mining operations.

So that is it. We are going to Panrong and he is bringing an expedition team of translators and some guards. Hopefully he likes Panrong compared to my village since he seemed to not like the idea of a small village around trees. I could see it in his face but he was at least kind enough to show respect. Definitely leaning on trusting him more now if he willing to accept our ways.

This will be the first time I visit a major city as well. I never really strayed too far from the village but now here I am going across the entire countryside along who was an enemy a month ago. Well I do plan on Rosebutas and Pentomos to have good relations, potentially being a place for them to be sheltered from harm as well. Nothing really in the works for Pomudachis. So I kind of have an idea for Rosestone towers being a source of light and water. Rosestones produce sunlight and heat. So in the sun catching towers above ground Rosestones would melt snow and send it to underground. However tundras are frozen deserts with very little rainfall. So this is not a good place for collecting water. Instead what /rose/ can do is dig channels next to the river to drain enough water to irrigate underground gardens. Rosebutas are fortunate to be plants. In the spring and summer they don't need as much food thanks to sunlight energizing Rosestones. However in the winter food consumption is higher because there's less sun. So Rosebutas would grow crops that last until winter like grains, dried mushrooms, and tubers. Especially tubers because tubers have trace minerals Rosebutas need for themselves. That's not to say Rosebutas won't enjoy fruit and greens during the summer. I don't have a crop list because I don't know how underground gardens will go.

Alright, I woke up and saw more discussion on the vote and my map not being clear, so I've redrawn the scenarios separately. Top row is /MANS/ in spot 1, bottom row has them in spot 4. The borders aren't drawn super exact, but hopefully this makes enough sense to get the ideas across.

Tubers are potatoes. Also another hazard for underground channels and wells is freezing. Not because you don't get water from ice. But because ice expands which destroys pipes and tanks. So wells and channels need to be insulated with a little warmth. Which funny enough means channels and wells have to be built above the tunnels. The natural warmth of lit Rosestones will travel to the roof of the tunnels, which will keep channels heated. You do have to be careful not to dig too close to the permafrost or else the channels will collapse. Vents will also be necessary to transfer heat and air to specific points outside.

Also the further you travel south the colder it gets. After a certain point you'll hit glaciers where water is always frozen.

What does watamelon have to do with it? They aren't directly involved in this either way, so their opinion isn't any more valuable than anyone else's here. I think the crux of the issue is that it is sacrificing a significant portion of an unrepped thread without them having any input. Also, it's not "reducing their size" since they aren't on the map yet. It's deciding their original size. That kind of thinking is the problem with anons going ahead with unapproved proposals.

Clearer code of conduct is needed when it comes to placing/displacing nations. The thread has been awfully slow to recognize/shuffle around threads that are no longer around, which in turn makes it harder than it has to be to place new ones.
If that process was more codified and streamlined, this situation would not have happened. For the /mans/ and /mhm/ reps, I will say that I will urge my thread to vote with your preferred positions, since both of your thread placements were handled quite poorly.

This actually highlights another problem I'd like to bring forward, which is the relative inaccessibility when trying to start as a new rep/writer. The intro project is a great step in that direction and I will write an excerpt to it soon, since I've mostly finished recovering from the coof.
If there was some kind of a primer regarding general conduct and how voting works, we could point to that. And before you say "but there are bylaws", they are quite poor at what I detailed here, and the best proof that people haven't read/remembered them is reflected by section 8 of it, which was largely ignored before for placement of /ehe~/ for example. Whether it's a good section or not (it isn't, the land acquisition should be defined much better) is irrelevant to this issue (lack of accessibility/broad rules of conduct).

We've kind of winged it from the very start, but with newhags coming in, it should be codified somehow.

I think the simple solution to this is to let this slide because the blame game has an inconclusive answer, add to the bylaws something like
