Japan surrendered on 15 August 1945, but still retain control of DEI up to late September. Then Indonesia declared it's independence on 17 August 1945.

If you say that the independence was on 27 December 1949, after the 4 years war, then yes it would be from the Netherlands.

No one ever mentioned that Indonesia declaring independence from either Japan or the Dutch. Technically Japan surrendered at 15th August and there's a vacuum of power in territory now called Indonesia, so independence was declared.
You will find a lot of words about vacuum of power had you read the books, sadly you guys never did.

The only reason why Indonesia lost militarily was because no one gave any weapons to the fighters, so they had to use every scraps that they can get from the remnants of the Japanese army and buying weapons illegally from the money gathered from the people.

If the US never supported Indonesia, the Dutch will win, but Soviet and China will support the Communist fighters just as what happened in Vietnam, and the fighting is gonna be way worse than the Vietnam War because of the sheer number of people in Indonesia and terrible geography that Indonesia has.
