Layna was open enough to talk to us about robs vrc community, so I'm going to make an effort to say exactly why I am against it without exaggerating. Some might disagree and some might say I’m being parasocial or entitled or whatever, but I’m trying to be very open and not defensive about exactly why i fell angry, and sad, and frustrated about the situation. This is aimed at Layna since she is open to discussion but its an open letter to all the vtubers we talk about who is involved like Giri, Saruei, Bao, Lily (but i know the chances of them ever seeing it are next to none).

There's a lot of talk about groomers, and mutes being slaves, but im not going to cover that or why i dislike mutes. Furthermore many people dislike Rob personally due to some of the things he has said about vtubers and vtuber fans as well as the content he produces, but even then if he was just a guy that sometimes interact with vtubers it would not be that bad, but his insistence on spreading through, using them as content and changing the vtuber community which he has talked about many times on stream is why so many people just don't want him near it, and I’m sure if he will see this and fall back to his normal excuse that he was just joking about it like he usually does every time someone points out somee stupid thing he said.

The main point: RPRs party was a perfect example of why I, and maybe others, hate "rob", he is the personification of the following, he was the one who perfected this and keeps pushing it and rpr did the exact same thing people complained about months ago when rob did it with vsj, it's as if he followed the same script:

Today RPR will get people watching him to hear a sentence about what Saruei, or Lili, or their streamer did at the party. And these people arnt respectful about not sharing what others did, like how it was heavily implied that vei gave someone a blowjob or something similar at degen night once which is something that even the degenerate vei never mentioned herself.

This even effects others streams so its unavoidable, back when they first went Vei and Nyanners went into other people stream chats telling them to end stream and come to degen night because something amazing is happening, its not specifically degen night but something about vrc culture because recently Giri and friends DMed Saruei while she was streaming about the amazing things happening at their offline vrc party causing Saruei end stream to go check it out, and creating the same FOMO in chat because they don't get to know what this amazing thing is. Admittedly this might be a big coincidence and might have happened before rob was even there, but you can see why people make that connection, when the first time it happened just so happened to be the time rob showed up to show off his mutes. I doubt Giri was told to do this, but this mentality just coincidentally always seems to spread thought that part of the vrc community. And it operates like a pyramid scheme, they need their new regulars to bring in fresh blood to bait their communities in the same way after the regulars communities become bored of it. It creates this really toxic relationship between the streamer and the fans where they don't trust the streamer. When Saruei showed up at RPRs party the kneejerk reaction was “oh she has a headache but she can go to the party?”, while if it was something like her playing phasmo with tricky and Porcelain offline I can guarantee the reaction would have been “I’m happy she is feeling better and can enjoy some games”, and ive experianced the same change in vsjs fans when they started doing this. I’m not saying fans who act like this are innocent in this, but i do think its an expected emotional reaction towards this culture of getting streamers to ditch their community to come hang out at the cool kids party and creating FOMO with gossip that coincidentally keeps happening around the vrc community.

I limited it to vtubers above but before 2020 I experienced the same when I still watched non vtubers, I think its a bigger deal in the vtuber community due to the big contrasts with how they normaly act, Ive always seen vtubers as being closer to their communities than other streamers (and yes i know rob will now call me a parasocial for this paragraph like he did in his last rant), I’ve been in streamer discords for years and seen them type maybe 10 times combined in it, meanwhile its standard (or at least on average more likely) for vtubers to hang out in their discord more, maybe have movie nights, reply to fans on twitter, and just make their communities feel more like your hanging out with another person and not a big important streamer. But rob specifically propagates this mentality that the community is beneath them, and the vtubers who spend time with their communities are baiting parasocials, the fans arn’t worthy of seeing these parties, and you should be lucky for any hints you get about them but were happy to use it for views. They do this specifically IMO to create FOMO and an environment for gossip to spread so they can get free word of mouth and bait people to watch their streams for hints. This type of “negative hype” as ill call it is extremely disrespectful to your community and creates a toxic environment, where you rely on FOMO and gossip as opposed to “positive hype” like a new outfit reveal or hyping up a game you want to play.

Lemme word this differently. VTubers have a degree of separation from their audience via their streaming persona, their model. Fleshniggers don't have that, and a lot of the big fleshniggers have been streaming since before Twitch or even Justin TV existed. They didn't know what they were signing up for in becoming full-time streamers, the culture grew around them. But because they were some of the first, there was no examples to follow, no indication of what and what not to do. Some, like Sodapoppin, even gave out their name and address freely in their early years and had fans come over to play games and shit with him (look up his story about "The Creature"). You can't take those things back, no matter how long ago it happened. So because of their past actions, they can no longer play the OPSEC game, they now have to play fort defense. Armed bodyguards, state of the art security systems, gated communities, they need that shit to survive because who they are and where they live are common knowledge. And it's gonna be like that for the rest of their lives. So of course they're gonna have resentment towards their community, their community is their prison. One entirely of their own making.
