I think your post represents a fundamental misunderstanding of why people enjoy watching chuubas play certain games.
I don't want to watch them play a game to get some sort of "fix", I want to watch them play a specific game because it's one that I'm fond of, and I want to see them react to elements in the game that I enjoyed. It's like when you want to show your friend something you enjoyed. There's just a social element to it that's hard to explain, even if in this case it's a parasocial relationship rather than a real one.
Maybe you could claim that it's some attempt at vicariously replaying a game, trying to recapture the enjoyment it gave on an initial playthrough, or maybe it's an attempt at validating one's enjoyment of a title via the positive opinions of another. I don't know, that sort of shit is delving too deep into an otherwise simple phenomenon.
