There is Mori's last release which I seem to remember doing quite well on the Japanese itunes chart in terms of daily position, selling 382 copies in the first week it was on the digital chart and then 749 in the second and 249 in the third and last week on the chart.

Rap isn't my thing but I like her more musical tracks like Red.
And yeah, picking people has worked out really well for Cover overall, they had the Chris issue early on and that was it. Aloe was a mistake due to her situation and lack of fortitude but at least it was amicable.

Making it to the top of the iTunes chart isn't as much as a success as it seems, as some anon already pointed out. It means you have a dedicated fanbase. Every YouTuber or inflencer who has released music has had a number one or close to one spot on the iTunes chart.

That said, Mori is incredibly hard working and talented but saying it's all her and not the brand is a bit disingenuous considering her other persona is considered an opening act at best to more popular musicians after grinding for years in the business.

Being in one of the most prestigous vtuber groups right now contributes to her success. I'm not saying that she doesn't deserve it (though I do think that her music is just mediocre at best) but without the brand power, people wouldn't even give her a time of day.
