I liked supporting Hololive when it was new (to the English audience. i.e. EN+)
Cheering on the girls as they found their feet. Half of them weren't streamers. It was wholesome and I enjoyed it.
Tempus came and it was 4 experienced streamers. Zero soul. The girls were getting uppity and were constantly shilling merch or acting bossy. Like, you're a girl playing with an anime avatar.
So I just dropped it entirely. If you want something done right, sometimes you've gotta do it yourself.

Streaming for the most part is just extra. It's like the director's commentary in a movie. People don't buy the movie for the commentary. They watch the movie first and if they like it enough they watch the commentary too, and not every movie needs a director's commentary to succeed. For vtubers, particularly Hololive, all the other other content besides streaming is the main focus. The music videos, the animated skits, the concerts, these are the things that draw people in. If people like that content enough, then they'll go the next step and watch streams. To put the emphasis on the streams is to put the cart before the horse, and it's why indies typically don't succeed because they only focus on streaming and tweeting without making any real content.

Funny enough, I look forward to most HolostarsEN streams, even zatsudans which I never listen or watch

Non stream content is uncommon enough that you'd have to be insane to consider it the main thing. Maybe you could make the argument for Mori or IRyS since they pump out a lot of music, but streaming absolutely is the central point for holoEN as a whole.

I wasn’t expecting to react so strongly, but Tempus actually managed to filter me. It’s not just that they’re males, it’s that they’re people who want to be internet celebrities not strange and interesting finds from all walks of life. It’s their reddit humor. It’s the fact that they’re in discord chatting with the girls and Bae is posting screenshots. It’s not the same any more.

I use to be able to stay awake all night and watch jp holos but I’m now too weak to stay up for the start of streams since my timezone always puts them at like 3am, not to mention my moon rune knowledge is at the bare minimum

I just bought some stream equipment and I'm going to fleshtuber it. I liked the concept of the Virtual avatar but I'd just get lost in 2view hell with everyone else. With my own person I at least have a history in the arts.

Stopped watching HoloEN after council because the content got stagnant.
I mainly watched JPs, but I did watch ENs occasionally when they had some interesting stuff. All the kino shit I liked from them have died off now unfortunately.

I realized their characters were very infantilized and coddling of their viewers. It took watching indie vtubers to make me notice Hololive is basically an adult daycare for lonely autistic men. Nothing against their fans but once the illusion was gone it became impossible to enjoy. Makes you feel like your support actually means something. For my hololive oshi I was just a number, or one of a thousand guys that dropped a red supa. Nothing would change for her if I wasn't there.

Used to religiously watch HoloEN except Kiara. Calli has gotten insufferable, I fucking can't stomach being in Gura's audience, Ame's has the charm of a rock these days and Ina has one foot out the door. Ironically the only one that has aged like wine has been Kiara once she dumped the Takamori and numberfagging shit. Of the 10 HoloEN girls, I only actively watch Kiara and Ina now. I moved onto smaller corps, and Reine, Kaela and Anya from ID.

A lot of what's killing EN isn't their fault. Myth are two years into their career and they still can't fucking get into Japan and have access to the same sort of support which the JP girls have. Everything they do is hampered by the companies lack of willingness to send support their way. I'm not saying build a studio but throw more money Ame's way. I feel that the 3D announcement raised everyone's expectations including the talents that they would be using it freely as soon as they got it. However everyone is chained to the concept that their 3d debut has to be in Japan. They should have done what ID1 did and kept their mouths shut about 3D, tempered their expectations and stuck to being streamers and up their game there.
