Towa's is probably the most iconic, and she really did do a great job. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the two. Towa's voice is just perfect for the big notes on the chorus, she manages to both be smooth and powerful as she goes for them which perfectly conveys the melancholy feel of the song, while Yomi is a bit more powerful and biting with how she does it which gives the song a different feel of defying fate and Hachi loses just a bit of the warmth in her voice when she goes for the falsetto on the big notes which is what gives her voice so much depth on the verses, which in turn gives more of a feeling of fighting and struggling like Yomi's voice lends itself to. I really like both approaches, and it's a good way to show that you don't have to approach the same song the same way to get a wonderful result.

For belting as in Error you really want the kind of raspy voice that rockstars use but is in the long run damaging to your vocal cords. Towa has some rasp (not much), while Hachi is on the opposite of the spectrum with her clear voice. I wonder if there is a cover with more rasp than Towa.

I just use Holodex for watching streams, it's pretty reliable for anything that is planned ahead of times. Guerrilla shit will slip through the keeper sometimes but it's still much better than Youtube. Your biggest issue there is smaller chuubas not being available to follow there.

I have been waiting for Chima's cover of Eien no Akuru hi. It is good singing as expected, but good singing is what deserves more detailed thoughts:
- The intial verses feel stiffer than I'd like, especially during "koko ni inain darou".
- The abrupt voice switch at 0:51 is masterful. Her belting and the studio effects masking it are what carry the cover.
- "Aishiteru nante" (at 1:00) was a missed opportunity for a voice switch (which even the original has). It's a signature of the song. Curious that she skipped it.
- The break in her voice at 1:47 ("inakute"), is an innovation compared to the original. But it surprises me that she doesn't do more variations. 1:55 ("kamisama") was one such missed opportunity. It feels somewhat formulaic as a result.
- The beat drop moment, of course, is at 2:40. Reminiscent of the Phony cover.
