So I was thinking about how some people blame Council for the lack of HoloEN growth when it is in fact Myth's decline that has stifled the EN branch and given the impression to some people that EN is not growing. And it's clear that everything cycles back to two people: Ame and Gura and their cancerous anti-numbers mentality which has had a disasterous effect on the branch.
The first breakout wave always sets the tone for the entire branch and so Ame and Gura are senior members who have a lot of influence on branch culture. It's been well established that they both hate big numbers and will do anything to handicap their growth, and that they've managed to cultivate an audience who think this is a good thing. Some examples include:
Not properly announcing buff content like Gura's birthday 3D or basically any time Ame hides something interesting behind a superchat reading. This is one thing Mysta and Vox actually do right - youtube watchers are already used to looking for clickbait titles because literally everybody does them. So most people will assume that if you don't even bother to advertise something in the title, there's nothing worth watching there. See also, unannounced offcollabs - NijiEN will have a whole arc of hype and people hinting at visitors, while HoloEN will give you literally nothing, killing the hype before it's even born.
Normalizing the culture of completely ghosting your fanbase, streaming 9 times in a month, love bombing your fans with cringe to try and guilt trip them, before fucking off again with tons of unmet promises and canceled streams. This shit wouldn't fly in NijiEN let alone HoloJP (Ayame notwithstanding). Raking your fans over the coals is a good way to filter out tourists and casuals, leaving only the most mentally ill goslings behind. This is terrible for channel growth and only leads to stagnation.
Delays delays delays, stream scuff, not testing out streams before they go live to minimize technical problems. Frankly unprofessional and Ame is the main culprit here. And since it's baked into HoloEN culture now, you get the same issues with council because they think it's okay to do it because Myth does it too!
Hating on gifted memberships for no reason. Gifted memberships are literally free growth and an easy way to expand your viewerbase because people who got gifted mems are more likely to stick around for more. This tells me EN prioritizes gatekeeping their fanbase over expanding it, which a lot of people in /hlgg/ love but it's objectively bad for numbers and channel growth.
There's more that I'm probably forgetting. The worst thing is that Ame and Gura will never ever improve themselves because they're surrounded by a legion of yes men and have a lot of influence due to being the 3D producer and the biggest streamer, respectively. So I don't know how to fix this, but I do know that the Gura and Ame problems need to be addressed if we don't want EN3 to develop the same unhealthy habits as the rest of the branch.

So I was thinking about how some people blame Council for the lack of HoloEN growth. They are wrong.
In fact, Myth's decline is what stifled the EN branch and gave the impression to some people that EN is not growing.

And it's clear that everything cycles back to two people

and their cancerous anti-numbers mentality which has had a disasterous effect on the branch.

The first breakout wave always sets the tone for the entire branch and so Ame and Gura are senior members who have a lot of influence on branch culture.
It's been well established that they both hate big numbers and will do anything to handicap their growth, and that they've managed to cultivate an audience who think this is a good thing.
Some examples include:
>Not properly announcing buff content like Gura's birthday 3D or basically any time Ame hides something interesting behind a superchat reading.
This is one thing Mysta and Vox actually do right - youtube watchers are already used to looking for clickbait titles because literally everybody does them.
So most people will assume that if you don't even bother to advertise something in the title, there's nothing worth watching there.
See also, unannounced offcollabs - NijiEN will have a whole arc of hype and people hinting at visitors, while HoloEN will give you literally nothing, killing the hype before it's even born.
