Apologies again for all the delays. I haven’t included the catalog stuff since that’s still being fleshed out, and I think it would probably be better off in its own rentry anyways. I have also not gotten around to compiling any of the complicated science because I am now on a fuck ton of medication, which has really messed with my ability to convey my thoughts in a coherent manner. It probably shows in my recent posts. I felt getting these first two sections out asap is really the important bit anyway, since only a few of us are autistic enough about chuubanite to care about quantum physics, the difference between functional vs artificial glyphs, and so on. None of that matters for the average anon engaging with the magic system.

Please inform me if anything is missing, incorrect, or simply so poorly worded it makes you want to gouge your own eyes out. Some sections were very nearly directly copy/pasted from the old document as I felt they did not require significant streamlining. Most of my time working on this was spent editing out the rambling tangents I kept going on, so please let me know if there are any strange formatting mistakes left behind, or if you feel any of the sections have been pared down too far and now require additional clarification.

Also, I would still like an answer to >>29725667 as the default balancing mechanic appears to be “for more x, you need to use a bigger glyph,” but more chuubanite isn’t really a drawback in this instance.

With that said, since I have IRL things to deal with I’m off. I’ll be back tomorrow to reply to discussions and/or make changes to the document as necessary. I'll give this a read in a bit, but to answer your question on how to balance activation substance vs glyph, maybe something like glyph gives you more control so you can specify how bright you want, like a dimmer switch, but with activation substance you just get immediate access to full throttle. So glyphs can't go above the activation substance max, but they're harder to manage and maintain in exchange for having a higher level of precision.

I have nothing intelligent to add because I am not a chuubanite anon, but I found this all pretty easy to understand. Idk, thought it might be a helpful opinion since one of the goals for the rework is simplifying chuubanite for anons like me.

I invite everyone to make a unique Civ ability and units / buildings (preferably Civ V since some of us never played 6, kek) for the thread they represent, so that we'd better know what your nation's are capable of doing should the scales be balanced. Alright, so one thing that had me scratching my head in the OG proposal and that I wasn't sure was going to be reworked is the bits on force generation. I'm a bit of a mechanicsfag.
First thing:

The constant 1/sec doesn't work for two reason. First, it's an arbitrary number that has strange consequences as the shape of the object changes. A 100 ton object and a 10 gram object rotating at 1 Hz is very different obviously, but for some reason this number applies to both. Second, this is inaccurate, because between the chuubanite rotating and the chuubanite not rotating, it will rotate at a speed other than 1 Hz, thus the sentence is incorrect.
Other minor point, a "rotational force" is normally called a "torque" or a "moment".
Second, having the chuubanite rotate around the glyph doesn't make sense. What happens if the object is constrained to rotate around another axis of rotation?
Also, the third sentence is too vague. What is considered "piercing"? What if you cover the chuubanite object with a powder of activator substance?
Finally, I would rename this section to ######Torque instead of ######Rotation.
Thus, I would propose this re-write that gets across the intended meaning of the author while removing those inconsistencies.

I think those issues can be solved by having the force be applied to the chuubanite itself instead.
Next, with the activator substance use-case. I believe the force should travel through the chuubanite object at the speed of sound inside of chuubanite, just like forces are normally transmitted through solid objects.
Finally, I would rename this section to ######Force instead of ######Linear Force/Motion
In light of those issues, I would suggest the following amended text:

Looks solid to my knowledge, sans for two parts:
- There is no clear way to selectively add Glycogen Phosphorylase at this era, you'd need to isolate it from organic tissue or use a genetically modified vector organism with a strong promoter to overexpress the gene coding the enzyme.
- Speaking of enzymes, there might be a major problem with using untreated liver. The liver, outside of glycogen, contains a lot of metabolic enzymes, including alcohol dehydrogenase, which would actively convert ethyl alcohol into acetaldehyde. Yes, low pH should denature enzymes, and even then alcohol dehydrogenase and a lot of cytochromes that could mess up the process are alkaliphilic, meaning that they'd be inactive in that environment. You could additionally add something to speed up the process and change the environment - pineapple juice or mulch comes to my mind quickly, since it possesses both acidity and acidophilic proteases that'd break down proteins which is for example why you sometimes get recommended a citrus/pineapple marinade for meats to tenderize them.

Since you do not have much of a land army, i think you likely have modern forts that you built us along with better cannons for them. The navy... I don't know how much you want to commit to that area, its up to you since NijiKR will have a lot of attention of piracy and raiding.

All gems are used for magic in /risu/ and each type of gem has a different use/power. Risuners have very rarely ever used gems for money so any outside nation will have no clue of the gemtree production. (Yes i know most people know this and i say it a lot but we got newbies) Anyway I don't think that the Mechaffyna would like the fact that we use nuts as currency since you cant accumulate large stacks of wealth anyway. So it shouldn't affect us much and honestly if I was a greedy corporation, the last thing I would look at are the tribal sex addicted squirrel people who dont even use actual money. But that's just my take on it.

Don't know how well I conveyed it last night, but I saw it as once the league first unifies, it'd first be split in the larger states, that then over time start to dissolve into the smaller provinces of a more unified nation state. The question if we go with that would be if we want to start after the dissolution of the member states, or start with them and explore the transition as it happens in current in-verse time.
