Understand anon that vtubing grew ALONGSIDE the rise of streaming. Like with all things, the nips were late to the party again, but in this case it allowed Vtubing as a medium to be viewed as a major subset in JPs streaming culture instead of the niche that it is in the west. If you were to make a top 10 list of streamers (CCV) in JP, I can almost guarantee that there'd be a handful of chuubas near the top. Maybe the EN sphere starts accepting vtubers as much as they do fleshtubers like how anime started going mainstream after suffering the early 2000s crash and being niche for close to a decade after. Bit its definitely not happening this decade.
