This island is actually an extremely beneficial position for you to hold in terms of international trade, setting aside the possible harvesting of resources, including chuubanites of other cultures.

While territorial distance often plays a role in the naming of political territory, the true holders of any given space are those that can maintain a tight enough grasp to justify it. /ag/'s presence on the island is a net positive for whoever ends up owning it, regardless due to our reliability and efficiency in terms of resource production and chuubanite aided cultivation. This would be best considering architects would be able to immediately begin to designate and produce valuable resources that are quite possibly extremely rare and valuable The parties of /2434/ and /vsj+/ both support the idea of full governance and ownership being given to /ag/ with infrastructure being built in order to support additional trade and proposed and approved buildings. Assuming /hfz/ also agree to these terms, we've all come to an agreement? Using an activator substance determines the glow by the ratio of surface area in contact with the activator to mass of the chuubanite object, so a thin sheet of chuubanite glows brightly and burns out quickly, while a thick chunk glows more dimly but for a long period of time. However with a glyph you can theoretically just take a large chunk of chuubanite and set it to glow as bright as you want. Ok, now for the actual response:
I think first we need to establish overarching theme for the nation. Are we still going with the alchemists idea? So this would be spread over the entire nation, but each of the other factions would somehow diverge from it (axelotls could have been an ideologically different guild, or group of guilds, which went "ya know, animals are pretty cool, let's fuse with them instead of golem cloaks", altventurers could have simply relied less and less on it as time went on, and the vesties just discovered the way to live eternally and peaced out of it as well.) I think this would be a nice nod to how we initially started with only pushing Magster(and to a lesser extent Vesper), but warmed up to the other guys after the debuts and after they streamed more.

So these groups would have existed in some way for a long time, but eventually the differences between the maggots and axelotls(and altventurers in the shadows) exploded in a full blown military conflict. At this point, none of the groups instead of maggots had a lot of power, aside from maybe vesties that would integrate themselves as scholars into the maggot guilds.(imagine something like pic related when it comes to guild territories)

So the civil war happens, and somehow Axelotls and Altventurers do well enough that maggots have to concede some territories to them. Vesties in this time also start concencrating in a certain area, silently and peacefully switching control over to themselves, gaining their own land.

This would be my take on it, but I would like to hear your opinion as well. Overall, I think we need to establish how we originated before we skip to the civil war. Love the map though, except maybe Vesties placement. I would put them all the way on the bottom, controlling about half of the little ball? of land, as well as the biggest islands to the west and northwest of it.

Yes it is true that risuners will see sanalites as bloodthirsty cannibals. However the tri fleet is still in the northern continent and it will take time for them to get back home. But yes when they do get back they will say some mixed reviews about /who/, some AMAZING shit about /uuu/, and some horrors about /nasa/. It all depends on if the situation would have been explained to the risuners. If I'm being honest, I'm a little jealous of the canals, but I don't think it should be repealed / retconned. It's not the same kind of huge canals kronies wanted in Risu. I think the vassalage discussion is more important.

You can argue the rep actually wrote it and it got approved by the appropriate thread, so it's all fair. On the other hand, saplings gave free reign to Hoomans to annex them and it got repealed... I understand why it might seem unfair.

Glad you like the province idea, I think it can work as a nice system, and give plenty of ideas to flesh out internal structure. As for multiple guilds, they were just a different name for regional lords or majors or whatever, basically low level governmental structure, that would group together into bigger "landscapes" (it's what the regions in pic related are called in Slovenia) and the councils of those would then make up the parliament in the capital. While they would have plenty of freedoms to develop their own territories in a way they see fit, they would still be a part of a bigger structure, and if a guild was actively hurting the development of those under them, they could and would be removed from power and replaced. I am heavily basing this from our own governmental structure, if it wasn't apparent. Well, kinda. Our mayors don't really make up the parliament, but w/e.
