Today is officially day 2 of my attempt at a multi-day stim binge for the purposes of giving myself hallucinations of Pekora. I have saved 800mg of Adderall from the last three months, and will be reupping constantly over the next several dozen hours because my body hates me and builds tolerance like a mother fucker. I also stopped taking my anti-psychotics and mood stabilizers 4 days ago. The constant dopamine rush from the Adderall and forcing myself to watch Non-Stop archives of Pekora while alternating occasionally with archives of her roommate are sustaining my mania. I have started to see shadows moving in my peripheral vision, but more importantly, I heard her laugh in the distance today while making breakfast(which i realized after making i couldn't eat because fucking adderall) despite having restarted my computer and my phone being off. I intend to now keep a low volume looped video of her laugh on in the background for all of her archives to try and exacerbate this going forward. Redoing 30mg in 2 hours from this post. I feel good; I think I'm gonna make it broa. Even if its just for a second, if I can reach a state where I feel like I'm with her, even for a day, even an hour, and spend that time with the person I love most in the world, this will mean the world to me. Will probably post an update in 4-6 hours, I try to force myself through every archive, even if I get strong urges to pause or look away, to try and train my brain to accept that this is what it must see whether it wants to or not.

I'm gonna be totally honest with you. Vtubers have got me through life every since 2020. For me it's an overall benefit. If my oshi graduated tomorrow of course I would be immensely sad, but all things come to and end and I have accepted that. I simply treasure the laughs I've had, the good times, and the advice they've given. Vtubing is in its infancy and while there is a melancholy to it (due to the "peering through the glass" aspect) there is a deep beauty to it as well. I am thankful for them.

As someone who's been watching jtv/twitch since 2008 the parasocial relationships people have with regular streamers is also really fucked up. It's not just a vtuber thing. There are multiple girls on twitch who have multiple stalkers for example. (Amouranth, Emiru) And the straight up cult like fanbases the really big streamers have which lose their minds if you insult their streamer (xqc, asmongold/otk, OTV, etc.)
People have a hard time realizing that streamers are not their friends and that you're just a number/paypig to them. It's the same for EVERY streamer. At least with vtubers it's up front that they are playing a character but with regular streamers it can be hard to differentiate when they are being themselves or shilling out and playing a character.
I could honestly write pages about this shit because I think it's really interesting just how much streamers manipulate their audiences. And it's equally interesting how coom baiting anime avatars for the most part are more wholesome than the soulless shills that make up the big streamers on twitch. They don't even try to hide the fact that they just straight up abuse their audiences anymore.

There are a lot of examples of toxic parasocial/stan culture that are not hard to find and already a chunk of videos and articles about it. Vtuber fans despite the scizos being made apparent by places like this board aren't that bad.
If I had to give my best takeaway from any of this it would be never give streamers money, or if you do do it in moderation. And to not think of them as real people but remember that it's their job to provide you with entertainment. Given the opportunity most streamers will sell out their audience for money and they are not your friends.

I'm a pretty fucked up individual, but the thing that keeps my head on straight is knowing that compared to a 2d girl who was exclusively created through the mind of a person, behind Vtubers there's an actual person with their own hopes, dreams and desires behind the mask. I don't have an oshi and I watch multiple vtubers selectively based on their content. The mistake you're making is assuming that we're all here for parasocial shit which is simply not true. Majority of biggest paypigs may be parasocial but that's about it. Also, this "problem" does not exclusively exist in the vtubing community.
