You're trying too hard to separate out GFE from what females bring to the table. Even the women themselves instinctively know this by hiding their relationship status or otherwise going out of their way to deny being in a relationship, despite the fact that male streamers can have no negative impact to their viewership by declaring that they have a GF.
Being an idol is simply the understanding of the importance of dedicating yourself to your fans. Dealing with males directly conflicts with that, because the suspicion arises that they are thinking about males over their fans. There is no way around this fact. Doing "GFE" is simply leaning into that concept. I also don't know why you consider Fubuki and Sora to be the norm (and even they don't have BFs), when basically none of the other Holo Pro interact with males. And even if they technically can, you'll notice they do cartwheels to ensure the fans that it's completely platonic. There are so many overlaps with being in a relationship (or at least being available/not taken) that it's absurd to think of completely separating out GFE from what they're doing. And that's not a bad thing, the idol-follower relationship - one where they are fully devoted to each other, can be very beneficial for both parties. The concept of availability of an ideal woman is enough to drive males to improve themselves, which I guess makes some statements ironic.
