It's likely the growth of the NijiEN audience has most of them breathing a little easier that any tweets won't come across as leeching, so they can be more open about it. Imagine doing this at the very start of Lazulight when Elira/Finana/Pomu were sub-100k subs and sub-1000 viewers; at best most would just go "who?" - a terrible fate for your branding.
