Honest answer to a bait thread: NijiEN probably would have floundered. Obsydia are much more like HoloMyth where each of the girls is off doing her own thing, their collabs together are fun but not particularly more special than their collabs with others.
What made Lazulight special and set them apart from the competition when they were starting out was the comfy sisters vibe, and how much they all hung out together on stream, and that has sort of set the tone for most of NijiEN going forward.

The current fake unity dynamic of NijiEN is that if an open call is made for people to join the stream, everyone available shows up all the fucking time and it becomes noise with everyone getting their two cents in too often.
Rarely do they think, "Hey, maybe I should sit this one out or come later when people drop out and let them have a comfy stream of a couple of people." And the people doing the stream don't want to be accused of gatekeeping or excluding anyone, so they have to go with the current culture whether they like it or not.
