It's really grindy and hard to obtain the necessary materials to both build a good base and also maintain it, as the base deteriorates without a back up supply. The game is built such that someone who's spent whole days grinding and finding loot like guns and explosives can easily stomp others, but smart players can raid the base of more advanced ones if they know what they're doing.
Matsuri has a decent supply of weapons, ammo and explosives such that she can stomp others and take revenge on anyone that surprise attacks her and tries to steal her guns. With enough explosives, nobody's base is safe from raiding, and you can reset them basically back to zero.
