29099935 No.29099935 [Reply] [Original]

Which work culture is superior?
NijiEN: Overcrowded constant rat race with persistent career insecurity that forces the members to stream more and innovate their content
or risk being forgotten and buried. Overworked and fearful of taking breaks, mentally exhausted. These conditions keep them on their toes
and force them to improve themselves in a survival of the fittest scenario.
or
HoloEN: Coalition of mutual underachievers who feel completely comfortable disappearing for multiple weeks at a time and do so with no
consequence. Will come back to the exact same numbers as before or even higher. So comfy and devoid of competition that there are often
no streams at peak hours. Most of their mental illness comes from their shitty fans rather than their work obligations.

The upside for NijiEN fans is that they actually get to watch streams, but the members have to deal with the same shitty rat race that all other
streamers have to deal with. The HoloEN members, on the other hand, have a seemingly much more insular and protected existence. This
is better for the members, but worse for the fans who are more interested in content than the mental health of the streamers. So which one
is better?

Nijis debuff themselves with male collabs and lack TALENT Freedom, while Holos are just lazy and unfairly use their fans as a scapegoat for their own inherent menhera tendencies.

The answer is obviously Vshoujo and indie work culture.

Nice fanfiction, man.
Never mind that Rine, Saya and Gilzaren stream like 5 times a year.
Or Anycolor allowing 300 day breaks for Sukoya and Roha.
And that even their smallest streamers can work at their pace and still collab with their biggest.

Nijisanji has always been a gig economy type thing, where:
>some want to make it big and succeed
>some want to make it big and fail
>some mostly use it to make money on the side
>some straight up don't care about making money, just see it as a hobby
And all these goals and outcomes rely entirely on the members themselves.

Hololive is a job with benefits. You get the exclusivity and more attention (hopefully) and have a safety net under you, but have to follow more strict rules inn general

NijiId makes it hard for me to believe that culture actually exists at Nijisanji.
The branch is a massive failure but they're all so relaxed and cool with it.
Fulgur, Ike and Hana have all put actual effort into willing debuffing themselves, so hard to believe the stereotype is true.

Nijisanji would be superior if it actually made the streamers innovate their content, but it doesn't and just leads to Apex/Minecraft/Collab spam until they burn out and get bored of streaming.

>Overworked and fearful of taking breaks
TF are you on? Most of Nijisanji EN has at least taken a week, several weeks, or even some months off. Purple Dragon's Dragoons even convinced Salad to take several days for her own good. /vt/ anons were convinced Pomu's channel was doomed from her nearly month long recovery from her surgery. Yet, here she is with more live viewers than when she started. For your own mental stability, stop splitting things into black and white absolutes.
Just to give more examples Petra took several weeks for school, Millie has an irregular streaming schedule for her own personal affairs. Several members of Luxiem have taken breaks. Currently several Noctyx members are taking or going on break. There is no overwork in Nijisanji EN and the members of the branch support each other.
I won't comment on Hololive because mental health is a subjective comment. The culture of overwork suggested by OP is easily proved false in reality.

But also because they have to. Growth isn't automatic for NijiEN the way it is for Hololive, they only get pushed into people's recs by the Youtube algorithm when they're actually live. They have to grind to grow, and their growth does halt when they're on breaks.

I think you've got this ass backwards.

Niji members generally stream more because they want to, they find their work more fulfilling because they get to do basically whatever the fuck they want. Niji lets them do whatever they want because with so many members, they can kind of afford to take more risks. One glance at NijiEN and you can tell there's a far more developed social group there, the members have close knit friendships and they like being around one another and are more comfortable collabing. However, this leads to less focused marketing strategies, and less developed product goals, which leads to lower total numbers, less coordinated events, and many streams that make the streamer feel very good, but have low market appeal - look at, say, Finana's constant Gacha streams. She loves that shit, but clearly no one else does.

Holo has clear, defined market goals, idol-style strategies, they're good at selling the vtubers as characters, but that comes at the cost of freedom, expression, and often making the talent do things they're not comfortable doing. This makes bonding more difficult - which is why a lot of Holos kind of isolate themselves off and do their own thing instead of forming cliques like Nijis do. It also kills motivation and drive, which leads to the streamers doing fewer streams. The truth is, when work becomes about the money, you do as little work as possible. When work is about friendship and mutual objectives, you do it a lot more willingly. If it were a "Rat race" situation, then why do indies stream so little?

You've got this fundamental psychology mixed up. When people enjoy work, they do MORE work, not less.
