Has Babel existed about thirty years ago? I had an idea for a story centering around a slave auction in a foreign land, exploring /nasfaqg/ ideals and individualism. If Epoch is asking personally, and especially if we've had dealings with his company before, I can't imagine they would refuse him. Of course, if they're potentially sending their men into an active warzone then the price is going to be much, much higher than normal. Short notice shouldn't be a problem, though you would have to select from whoever is on-hand instead of waiting for someone more specifically suited to the task to arrive.

Not trying to start a timeloop but Magic shouldn't outstrip technology. Since most nations won't have telegraph for quite a while or only have the beginnings of a telegraph network, the communicator should be limited in the length and complexity of the messages it can send. The range of it can be discussed and effected by factors like attunement and make of the communicators. But having them being too effective should be a big no no. It's interesting to think about how technology like this would effect how the company operates but it's a bad idea imo to make it too good. I'd say babel's success mostly owes to them having occupied the niche of providing commerical translation services when most nations just rely on a small number of diplomats and scholars. So businesses can hire a translator much easier. Of course it depends on the individual nation but this would be a better if more mundane explaination

Hmm. /wg/'s chuubanite is pretty tightly regulated, so only the nation's top oracles would likely have the experience and training required to wield these devices. Of course, those people usually serve in the government and wouldn't be working for Babel, so that already limits the pool of users significantly. Babel probably works enough government contracts to negotiate for access to chuubanite reserves though, so it isn't out of the question entirely.

It's a game of chance really, the cannon ball that hit Quedlinburg's son was a freak shot that bounced up and tore him in half for example. Yes, that might be one of the worst ways to see your son die because you can't mourn his death at all, despite how gruesome it is. Solid shot can be absolutely nasty

Also regarding the internal map, don't worry about it. Pomerania is in both LL and NijiEN to represent that Pomudachis are a massive part of NijiEN as a thread. Some of the other nations also control part of EN general but the running joke is that Pomudachi, the Boys and Schizos are the only posters in EN General. Please, don't think of it as land annexation when it is just the reality of that hellhole.

I assume you are saying that if someone wanted to create a EN General nation they could, the answer is yes but truthfully the reason I did it the way I did was to make sense of our general instead of trying to exploit things. /luxnoc/ wasn't a thing at the time for example. Honestly, my personal take is that if someone wants to create EN Generals cutlure, they should focus on the schizos and /soc/ posting that place is essentially. It is arguably the wild west of any actual thread in /vt/ and I have tried to make it as such. If push comes to show, we can rethink how to approach it all but until then, I think its fine the way it is since its more of a confederation of independant states who "recognize" the Emperor/Empress for being their "Lord", which if you read my lore on Eliria, means jack shit. Does that clear it up? It's just a way of building a more interesting setting for everyone to write with and to my knowledge, the other reps seem to like it.

Also, whenever I made this up originally, I thought I could be a rep for multiple nations because no one explained that to me and since I went to get perms from each thread, i operated as such while leaving much up to further development by other anons.

I like the silly puns. But a couple issues. Rosebutas view sex as sacred right? Them kidnapping mammalian sapients and raping them doesn't seem that in character. Though you could expand on how this group adopted this attitude/practice.
