The thread finally ended so I can answer your question. I've answered this question numerous times on # and on other threads talking about music holos so if it sounds familiar, that's why.

Now, other anons have already provided reasons such as shilling, bad songs, but I believe those are all just symptoms of the bigger issue.

In order to be a music holo, you need to be categorised as a music/singing holo in the casual audience. To do this, you need to build a BRAND.
How do you build a brand? You need a unique selling point (a defining feature that the audience can point out).

Let's look at some music holos and their selling points:
Mori - rap
Suisei - the premier idol
Gura - soulful
Moona - belting/power
Risu - range
Towa - baritone/deep voice

Now let's look at Irys, and also Watame who also produces many songs yet doesn't generate high views (watamage pls don't kill me), what are their selling points and defining features? In the casual sphere, Irys is majorly only known for Yabairys and the Baerys ship, meanwhile Watame is known for Watamelon and Watame did nothing wrong. You can see the issue with this. Neither of that has to do with their music.

Secondly, a huge aspect of the brand, you need something to catapult you into the public consciousness, this could be a song or event.
Mori - RIP
Suisei - Ghost
Gura - Ride on Time
Towa - Error
Moona - High Tide/Holofes
Risu - King/Holofes
Now to note, this needs to be something that is closely linked to you, therefore the audience needs to feel your passion/emotion in it. For Irys, her music have been corporate written songs, and her creative input is very limited. For Watame, she was on the verge of getting it with My Song but she isn't quite there yet, it still didn't take hold.

After all that, you still need recognisable music, stuff that isn't just the generic idolshit. This again is an issue for Irys.

Finally, marketing comes last but it's still important, you need to be able to market your music well, and it can't just be spammed like how Irys' music constantly is.

(Someone please save this post so I don't have to keep typing this)
