First, most of this thread agreed when redrew it to give them that island (it is more useful to them anyways) than the exclave
Second, I am trying to respect their border but it makes zero sense for them to have an exclave that they would not be able to actually hold there.
Third, I would give them another island, but there is no other island that the one I gave from 2434.

Mikan has had concepts for a VTuber RPG bouncing around her skull for a while. Nade has lore of being an MMO guildmaster, and she's recently got super into military history. So it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I do only skim the threads, I admit. I didn't happen to catch it the other times, I just happened across it just now when I checked the vote anchor post. You can call it a belated response and ignore it or whatever, but you should be aware this *is abuse of inactive threads* and you are setting a precedent. Hopefully that won't bite a thread you like in the arse in the future.
>>28421757
The reason I mentioned /pyon/ is because the islands given to them were made up, created when they requested them, to fit the shape they wanted them to be, and placed in a location where they wouldn't disturb currents etc.
What I meant by "give" wasn't to take an island from another nation and hand it to them, but rather create another island in an empty spot. It doesn't even have to be a single island. It can even be a bunch of smaller ones making an archipelago. Seems fitting for a pirate nation, I'd say.

>> No.28422286

Would love to do that. But I am not in charge of that. Its not about taking land from an inactive thread as much as it is trying to make sense of how borders work. I would make the same case if it were one a nijisanji threa. Not to mention i actually like Senchou

we should honestly backpedal everythign bthat goes beyond 1750, including /inf/, because this was what the thread last agreed upon. no tech that clearly goes beyond it and also no amgic that mimics tech that goes beyond it. ergo if there are no "real" phones then there are also no "magical" phones ect.

any exception to this needs to be rooted with goo reasonign and agreed upon, for example /nasa/ being space people

maybe that will actually stop for once the "i need future tech for my country because actually my country is super good in that and therefore needs to be the best in it."

Agreed. Would rather have it back at 1550 but no one wants to tear everything down, me included since I am fine writing in this era. Anything that goes 25 years ahead that makes no sense lore wise needs to go.

Just to be clear, I'm not against the exclave being given to the niji continent, I wasn't exactly fond of it at the start either but noone made enough of a fuss about it for it to be removed so it stayed. It does make more sense for that area to be Niji land.
What I'm arguing about is that the compensation for the land taken is insufficient, hence the new island(s) proposal.

Panon tried his best to come up with a compromise within the limitations he has, he cannot just add an island himself. there actually is a newer map that i know has more islands overall so maybe worth checking if it also added some islands there that could also be part of the compromise

other than that, even if /ahoy/ loses "1000pixels" its not like with /uuu/ where they lose half of their overall landmass, /ahoy/ is still more than large enough a nation.

and there is also still the issue of /dsw/ so /lazulight/ will probably have to give way some land soon since /dws/ needs to be placed somewhere on that overall landmass

(playing a bit into Holo vs Niji geopolitik here but) That sounds like a Niji problem. I don't really see why, in matter concerning just Niji generals, a Holo general has to come out with a loss. Surely you would also be against a Holo general being placed/expanding into Niji territory due to lack of space.
Though I don't think that will happen/be necessary. We could have, for example, used the unplace dholo generals from >>28424048 and say that since the Holo continent doesn't have enough space we'll just take some Niji coasts. Obviously that wouldn't make sense, but it's an example.
There is a bylaw (No. 8 to be exact) that does say new nations take land from surrounding related active/inactive nations, so that's how we'd place any new ones as mentioned in >>28424048 or the current Niji matter, but we still have to make it fair and mitigate some losses. I just feel that in this specific case with /ahoy/, the compensation for losses caused by matter they're unrelated to isn't enough.

>> No.28425210

>>28424762
the reason for why usually niji nations would not lose land for holos and vice versa is because they are on different continents and it would make little sense for a new holo nation to emerge in the middle of the nijis and vice versa.
/ahoy/ is the exception because they had land on a continent they didn't have much of a reason to be to begin with.

and the active part of the thread has pretty much come to the conclusion 2 weeks ago, that it is in fact, enough compensation

and if this does trigger you so much you need to chew this up after the fact then oh boy, better don't read up on stuff even further because i doubt you will take well to the fact vshojo is getting land on the holo continent essentially

I did admit that I am late to the discussion, nad if you all have in fact voted and/or agreed upon that being enough, then that's fine. I am but one anon, so my power is limited. I thought I'd at least voice my opinion as a singular HoloJP rep even at this time. Majority wins, however, and it's not like I'm that peeved about /ahoy/ losing some land, though I figured I'd try to get them a better deal out of this.

I'd be all about this if the nations warring each other were both active, but alas. Also the world is supposed to reflect the /vt/ board, so unless the actual generals were raiding each other (eg /rushia/ being invaded by schizos, or indie threads falseflagging in eachother, or that time /inf/ had rigged a poll of an indie(?), niji(?) thread) were3not meant to instigate wars unless both reps/lore makers agree to it, iirc.
The /morig/-/meat/ naval battles arc was fun though

>> No.28426591

god, no wonder 3beat never finalized the voting results, lookign back on the archive the votes are all over the place to different posts and then was pretty much halted with the new map proposal being fiddled out

but yeah the /ahoy/ change was pretty much agreed upon unanimously, the changes between /nijiEN/ and /2434/ back then was abstain and the other ones to be reverted.

with the latter 2 basicly being overworked with new map proposal and so far received well, except i will still annoy Panon that /warkop/ border should be one river up.

so even a vote afterwards would not change anything in regards to /ahoy/

I'm more than happy to answer your questions Risuner.
>How would the druids react to Hamdani sending scouts in your forests?
Presumably, they would be a lot more cautious toward approaching Hamdani's scouts and would probably not go out of their way to interact with them unless there was a necessity to do so and due to their reclusive nature.
>How much tolerance would there be for risuner squeebing your people? Hamdani just might turn into an underground sex cartel in a way.
Squeebing is taken as a serious offense to the forest and is looked down upon as the Forest itself will punish Squeebers and ruin their transformation.
However, there is no enforcing body aside from the Forest and Saplings are curious and naive even if they understand the consequences of squeebing. Squeebing can quickly get out of hand however because Sapling tribes are often smaller, tightly knit communities, and having this community corrupted would quickly become an issue for the tribe's health as a whole. While Saplings wouldn't respond with violence, they would eventually gather themselves as a community and actively avoid you. While you may steal away a few Saplings for this cartel, it probably won't be able to expand into anything huge. Scouts might also suddenly find paths that were once there to now be blocked off and the forest as a whole to be evermore winding.
>Would you accept our nuts (not the sex kind) as payment for stuff?
Saplings would gladly accept nuts as they mostly have a bartering economy, especially for specimens from your native land, they would be enthused to take part in trade for new and exciting plant life.
>Would you have some kind of open shops?
Saplings are hunter-gatherers so at best there would be trading posts for when tribes or individual saplings settle down.
>Do you guys have any infrastructure of any kind at all?
Not really, there are large hubs around elder trees with rudimentary constructs but the "infrastructure" would mostly just consist of medium to large tents and often living inside of large trees like the Aliens from Avatar.
>May i kiss your precious cheeks?
I am already taken, but I will allow you to poke them or even pinch them.
>IMPORTANT!-Do you have some sort of hierarchy or someone in charge for Hamdani to meet?
Where ever there is a tribe, there is a Chief of that respective tribe. Shamans are spiritual leaders and outrank the leadership of Chiefs very rarely unless there is a direct call from the Forest for them to intervene or in ritualistic matters.
>What kind of fruits, veggies, other natural goodies you got in that forest of yours?
Most commonly found are berries and fruits from the Rosaceae family such as apples, apricots, cherries, chokeberries, etc.
As for vegetables, any normally vegetable that would be able to reside in temperate environments would be able to survive as the soils of /uuu/ are exceedingly fertile so anything like Buckwheat, Cauliflowers, Celery, Barley or any kind of herbs would be able to thrive or at the very least be found somewhere in the forest.

if you don't beleive me then try and see it you can find any documentation fo anything talked about since you came in like the definition of representative/mediator, how to interact with inactive nations, what the current year and supposed tech elvel is ect. just some general rules abotu how stuff works here at all. its a wonder anything about chuubanite was written down in the first place.

Funny how we were just talking about Sonny, he plays a lot of them! Off the top of my head, in the past month he's played Mario 64 & Sunshine, Resident Evil 1 & 2, and Hitman. Here's his Mario 64 stream if you want to give it a shot: https://youtu.be/tNH6tGIrFnY
I think he's pretty endearing in this one since he has a lot of nostalgia for the game. He's passionate about game design in general and often pays close attention to small details, then gives small game reviews when he finishes each game. That being said, he's definitely not for everyone since he does tend to get autistically caught up in whatever he's playing, going quiet for long stretches at a time.

As for personal recommendations please watch Fujlgur's What Remains of Editch Finch: https://youtu.be/SlXxBL2W6cA
He gets very into the game and shows off a lot of his best qualities as a streamer, such as his ability to guess where the plot is going due to his vast knowledge of literature in general, as well as his tendency to get completely absorbed in a game's story while still holding a conversation with chat. I will refrain from actively shilling him because I am incapable of shutting up about him once I start. I love my wife, that is all, thank you.

that last one wasn't specificly about the technotalk today, more like in general

but ym question from earlier still stands, what is the actual need for /nasfaqg/ to be a century ahead in anything to be considered "good" in them when jsut being up to date to 1750 tech would already mean being ahead of 2/3 of the active nations in here by a lot next to already beign the richest nation and, when put together, one of the biggest navys in the world.

what flavour and or lore reason is there that is not just "a few other countries are also ahead for one reason or another so we want to too because we want to be better as them too"

Yeah, I didn't chime in on the hydrophones yesterday since by the time I got here the conversation was long over, but I'm also against that being a thing unless it's extremely limited somehow. The proposed solution being "magic noisemakers" doesn't sit well with me, because then the counter to a problem caused by magic is more magic. The problem anons have with chuubanite right now is that it feels inferior to tech, so anons are forced to use technology whether they want to or not, but applications like hydrophones and the psychic tiaras are just doing the opposite. Magic completely outstrips tech in those instances, to the point where anons will be forced to use magic.

In the first place, even if a mundane application of chuubanite to create something equivalent to advanced tech is possible, it doesn't mean people should have ALREADY FIGURED OUT THAT APPLICATION. Complex uses of chuubanite require more complex glyphs and possibly even the combination of glyphs and activator substances. Therefore, complex magic and especially magitech isn't something that in-universe people should be able to just pull out of their ass at will. It would require time and dedicated research, just like regular tech does.

tl;dr Magic and technology should be roughly equal. Magic is not a deus ex machina.

I personally think you can be a little TOO anal about balance, and specifically about balancing things in ways that reflect real history. It's ultimately still a fantasy world, and some allowances should be made. But that voice of reason and doubt is also necessary, so please don't feel the need to stop doing it. Just be aware that as we are, in fact, writing in a fantasy world, sometimes majority opinion will simply disagree with the need to make everything 100% realistic. People should be allowed to do some things just because they're cool or fun, as long as it isn't completely bonkers broken.

whenever kroniis and their tech come up there is usually a general consens that it was a msitake, should ahve never have happened and it warped the whole project from its original goal just to fit them. so why stick to those deicisions? because it would require work to change it? thats a shitty way of handling thigns and if that keeps up, all it will do is turn off new people because why invest time and effort in a project that has constant timeloops of stuff because people don't wanna give an inch to fix it.

NAAAAAA
As a base setting each thread was more or less agreed to be at the age of sails, however, ultimately the actual behavior of the individual general and the lore of the chuuba was what finally determines what technological level an individual nation is at. It's why lunaitos are set in medieval times while lacking many firearms despite the fact that many countries around them have access to gunpowder weapons and they themselves utilize low powered famine rockets. Magic is primarily used by nations like this that don't have a chuuba with lore or themes that would reasonably give them a higher tech level, however, it's not meant to just replace high tech weapons since chuubanite powered cannons don't just operate as cannons with chuubanite in them, like how lunshine is essentially just moonshine but the addition of chuubanite makes it so that lunshine requires an insane precision to make and is extremely dangerous. Some nations rely ALOT on chuubanite and they have weaknesses based on chuubanite and some nations rely almost completely on their technology and some have a mix of both, it isn't really supposed to be a hard cut off since tech level is complicated by the addition of chuubanite.

>>28440169
You're now changing your stance from coming up with an interesting way to combat higher tech to now using chuubanite to "magically solve the problem of power inequality" which nobody has been doing thus far. It's never been a rule that every nation is equal in power or that every nation is capable of the same feats, much the opposite, we had alot of discussions like this when it looked like /nasa/ and /risu/ might be going to war. /nasa/ is far more powerful than /risu/ in tech level however the sheer population of /risu/ has a good chance of overwhelming them with numbers, to boot, sanalites are limited in population and each loss hurts way more to them than it does to /risu/. Each nation acknowledges their own chuubanite's potential which is based around their chuuba and their general, by ignoring that and ignoring any actual formula to how a chuubanite bow might work or a chuubanite enhanced weapon or machine might work, it's going against the spirit of the thread in order to create lore that isn't fun nor creative. Nora.

>> No.28440751

>>28440169
For a bullet fast arrow you're going to need: 1) an arrow that won't break at bullet speeds. 2) a bow that works with the bullet arrow to give it enough energy for bullet speed. And 3) an armpad that will protect your arm from the powerful bowstring needed to fire a bullet speed arrow. You can use chuubanite's ability to absorb and manipulate kinetic energy to create this weapon in my opinion. These are my ideas. I say go for it.

Also there's this idea as well: >>28440216 Making trick arrows could also be a way to fight off guns. Trick arrows also include exploding arrows, smoke arrows, or shale oil dipped fire arrows. You can say you use chuubanite to make trick arrows for utility.

Am here.
About to hit the hay after doing paperwork. Boring non-fiction paperwork.
My plan so far is to have the device only usable by 'catalognauts' in-universe. A common trope in fantastic genre. Lords, heroes, adventurers, jedi, etc.

1. They are people who are born/created in-tune with the catalog, the immaterial realm/ley line/dreamlands of /vt/ that delivers the conceptual energy to the physical vtubium itself. These people are able to use/ingest/absorb normally fatal amounts of vtubium and are sensitive of its energy. They are like walking batteries, receiving vtubium energy from the catalog.

2. Career-wise, they can be anything really, mages, scholars, assassins, spies, mercenaries, employing their talents to anyone in need of their services. As for allegiance, it's up to the guilds they register, the Jack of all trade merc corps of /vt/.

3. As these people are like receivers, they are able to also send messages through it. Using the catalog ley line to transmit thoughts with the communicators and only be able to picked up by other vtubium sensitive people using the device.

4. The communicators themselves are only handed out to seasoned members by the guild they work for and is only tuned to the same manufacturer.
A guild's communicator can only be used to contact other members of the same organization.
Imperial adventurers working for /hlgg/ can only communicate with other imperial adventurers.
Adventurers working for Babel in /wg/ can only communicate with other members.
Black Fleet magic Deadbeat mercs can only contact other Black Fleet members.
And so forth.

5. Communicators are meticulously crafted to match the brainwaves of its user, no two copies are the same. If a catalognaut slain another and tries to use their communicator, they will get vertigo, migraine, and possible brain damage. No espionage possible.

So for balance, communicators can only be used by
>Vtubium sensitive people tuned into the catalog
>Only among the same company
>Given only to seasoned members
>Personally and uniquely crafted to match the user

and "fun" is very subjective, if for you like to come up with exact blueprints and materials needed as well as the way they have to be processed or come up with mathematic formulas with how much chuubanite is needed for such a feat and how long it would be effecient before the radiation has weakened it enough to not be worht it anymore then be my guest.

to me however that is not what i find fun and is not what i want to write about.

I think the specific technology would still remain less universal as something everyone would use and more as somethins a select few elite ships, maybe our versions of dreadnoughts, would employ since these individuals sound really rare based on how powerful they are and losing a catalognaut would be a heavy hit, especially if alot has already been invested into the tech that only they can operate.

The difference between that and a bow and arrow is that it sounds like retro chuubanite is already working off of an understood system and boosting its power, i'd assume its self limited by the capacity of power it can contain so that's no problem.
Having a bow and arrow create a reaction that's different from what you'd expect requires the bow, string, and arrow to be capable of sustaining the force of what you want to use, there are probably bow and arrow autist in the thread that would be willing to look into that but something like that cant be handwaved since people would call it out as not following the rules of basic physics like we all agreed chuubanite must do, which they did.

Sure, when I suggested magitek communication devices for reps to have to communicate with each other instantly, with each nation having just a single one and the only ones permitted to use them would be the rep and the members of their upper echelon (lore makers, map makers etc), in order to more accurately represent the communication we have in this general, instead of forcing agreements and transactions to account for the months/years worth of travel needed for meetings and such, it gets instantly shutdown and rejected, but when this anon suggests magic tiaras that serve the same purpose but are not limited to reps and instead can be used by the hundreds (the world has millions of people, even if they're rare, say 1 in a million, in a 500mil people world that's still 500 people) globally for trading, military, espionage uses, it gets accepted.

Alright, there's a lot more to respond than I can physically cram into a post, but I'm back home so I can explain everything regarding /nasfaqg/ and tech.

First, a bit of a context for the initial proposal:
- 1750's were chosen as the 'average' tech era.
- Despite that, other threads commonly pushed their technology to 1820's, so 1800's became the de-facto 'average'.
- It was agreed upon that the tech levels are not realistic and that due to the punk historic-ness of the setting they are usually somewhat 'equalized' in terms of impact.
- It was right after the /infinity/ came out of isolation, which is why the disadvantages listed are, as some anon pointed out, "how does /nasfaqg/ stay together" Spoiler: It doesn't. It's essentially hundreds of corporation-states in a land called /nasfaqg/, it's as decentralized as something can be without calling it 'anarchy'.
- By that point, the tech has been shifted two times. At first, it was set roughly in 1450's. So, /nasfaqg/ has adopted a Venice-like aesthetic. Then, it was set in 1600's. So, /nasfaqg/ moved onto more Netherlands-like aesthetic and culture. The final tech shift was pushed for by /infinity/ and is the one that remains today, up to 1750's average tech. At that point, we've set our foot in the ground and just went for Victorian England aesthetics.
- Critically, REALLY CRITICALLY, you need to understand what NASFAQ is: it's a Hololive fan game that mimics the contemporary stock market and draws partially from modern /biz/ culture in terms of presentation. It's filled to the brim with coders, Excel spreadsheets, and bots. It has its own thread OC "loreposts", which are short stories set in /nasfaqg/, in which it often is portrayed as a cyberpunk corporate dystopia. If /nasfaqg/ could adopt any kind of aesthetic disregarding the rest of Vitubia, it'd be either a modern stock market or cyberpunk dystopia. We've only adapted those historical aethetics despite not making sense for what the thread or the game is as a compromise, focusing on the theme of "making money", which means trade.

It's an extremely fractured society which, in many ways, operates somewhat similar to how anarcho-capitalists /imagine/ their "state" would work (I completely disregard realism here, since I obviously don't support that IRL).

Now, the question is, "what makes /nasfaqg/ rich". Is it trade? Trade is good, but /nasfaqg/ doesn't collect strait tolls and follows the principles of free trade. Is it abundant natural resources? /nasfaqg/ has a raw resource deficit without many self-extracted resources - things like foods or materials are imported in. It's the processed goods and services that are imported out, a service-based economy. If there's no inherent advantage from location, no inherent advantage from resources, no inherent advantage from holding markets captive, then why would anyone buy anything from /nasfaqg/ over domestic companies? The answer simply has to be: those companies produce really good, unique products at high prices. They offer luxury goods and usually don't compete with local markets. They have some kind of know-how advantage that lets them turn profit.

In-lore, it's usually that a company specializes in /something/ that gives them the edge. It's not that the entire nation has everything futuristic, but rather that individual company-states hold a single distinguishing characteristic that they will paranoically guard until their deaths.

Now, seeing the state of the thread and that it has rubber-banded back to 1750's proper, I would say that the "1800 baseline, 1850 average, 1880 specialized" proposal is too much. It should be "1750 baseline, 1800 "average", 1880 specialized", and this I'll change without any further deliberation or explanation, since this is just correcting for the current state of the threads. Please note that "average" doesn't mean that the tech is widespread either, or that it's necessarily available on the consumer market.

This tech advancement is offset primarily by two things: lack of availability due to paranoia over letting it fall into the hands of others and how fractured and unwilling to cooperate /nasfaqg/ corporations generally are, with just about two exceptions of mega-mega conglomerates in the game.

Those aren't band-aid fixes. Those are literally calques of the thread culture.

To give Tripoint as an example: it specializes mostly in modelling using precision engineering, and financial theory. It leverages both of those things to a fraction of their potential since it keeps them both a secret: anything akin to an analytical engine would be kept a secret and closely guarded (and besides, I mostly meant for using them to solve calculus rather than being genuine programmable analogue computers).

The impact of that technology is curbed massively, and its leakage into the world is basically nonexistant due to the two factors outlined above.

>> No.28443452

An explanation needs to exist. The explanation doesn't need to be something you, personally, come up with. You can just come into the thread and say "Hey I want to be able to do this with chuubanite," people will suggest to you how that's possible and you can just choose the one that sounds the best to you. Now you have your cool chuubanite thing, and you also have the explanation available if anyone asks you how your cool chuubanite thing works.

You'll never interact with /nasfaqg/ as a whole, essentially. A company like Tripoint would have maybe 3 ships-of-the-line tops, one being a vanity flagship project and the latter two maybe qualifying as great frigates instead. Any corporate navy would likely run a lot of lighter vessels like sloops or frigates, so that's not an accurate measurement, either.

Reps can be represented by the leaders of their nations eg I think the Kiara general claimed Kiara is their actual queen so she'd be the leader of their nation and thus have access to the device. Or another nation like nasa with Alex (I think was his name) having a representative to talk to the local leaders would use the device. It could be used by presidents, dictators, councils, parliaments, whatever system each thread uses to represent their leadership.
>>28443343
This can work, too, but that means each nation would have at least one catalognaut and that they would be locked exclusively for international communication somehow
Else, you need to accounting for all of these discussions taking place over multiple years, perhaps decades, just for the messengers to go from a nation to another carrying messages, many of which may just be "ur a faggit lol xx >t.haha".
If we're going through the trouble of using quantum physics to explain how chuubanite works, surely we can create a system with which communication between nations takes less time instead of just handwaving it, right?

Because, anon, if we do not reduce communication times, deciding on a tech level and a specific year is pointless.
Say we start at 1730. A thread, passes, during which /nasa/ and /risu/ exchange 10 messages each. Assuming these were not done a single meeting and were instead sent through messengers on ships, that interaction would mean that 10 trips to and fro these nations would have to be made, which are halfway across the globe and would take multiple months each to complete, meaning that, in a single thread, 5 years may have passed just because they had this communication. Repeat this for any communication between nations far apart, and, accounting for all the threads so far since January/February, we'd be at least in the 19th century by now, if not even later.
Add onto this that /nasa/ had claimed in the past that they had been on the planet for only 6 months (closer to a year now), how the fuck would you explain them interacting with literally every other active nation, multiple times, establishing trade deals, alliances etc, even when they're across the globe?

I think it would be primarily divided into two somewhat similar climate types:
> Humid subtropical (Cfa): eastern coast
> Monsoon subtropical (Cwa): northern coast
There might be small patches of another climate types:
> Hot steppe (BSh): southern tip of western coast
Eastern coast is relatively simple: warm current from the tropics flow off shore of /risu/ until it reaches around /pol/ka, bringing warn and moist air to the land.
For western coast, normally the cold current flowing between /risu/ and /morig/ would bring cold (relatively speaking) and dry air to the western coast, giving it a hot steppe or even hot desert climate.
However, the size of holo continent means it will create a strong monsoon (probably the strongest on this planet), meaning that during summer the prevailing wind of southern and southeastern holo continent will turn to blowing inland, which has the result of giving those places a *very* wet summer. Because of that, most of the /risu/ closer to the continent proper will be wetter in summer and drier in winter.
As such, I think it makes sense that western coast of /risu/ will have a monsoon subtropical climate instead: raining like hell in summer, and dry as bone in winter. the southernmost part of /risu/ might be too far from the continent to have such a strong effect, though, which is why it might have an odd patch of different climate there.
As for the biome, following what /risu/ wants, it will likely be mostly tropical rainforest, although the sharp difference between wet and dry season means it likely won't be evergreen. Basically, during wet season, the forest will be lush with green trees. During dry season, though, many of these trees will lost their leaves to reduce water loss, which makes the floor of the forest more exposed to sunlight, where more arid-resistant shrubs will bloom before the trees grow their leaves again. While this applies to the whole area, evergreen will be more common in the east, while the west will be more seasonal, and the southern part might begin to see the woods getting sparser, although it might not be too obvious before reaching tropical rainforest in bakatare again.

You would hire one if you wanted a very discreet hit done or you would hire one for a secret trade deal that's been going on in between nations, or you could buy one for what I assume would be a GARGANTUAN sum of money. Yes, obviously not every message in the thread is a conversation between nations etc, but things that are or could be interpreted as such, ie trade deals, war declarations, vote suggestions, invasions for gatherings, warnings, news of a certain region, communication to establish plans and logistics to build stuff like a road through and across /risu/ etc would require "in-game time", which is my point. If conversations and some agreements were able to be made over long distance, it would shorten the time necessary for such plans to take place
>logistical nightmare
This is exactly what I'm trying to avoid though, this matter keeps being handwaved.
While it is true we're doing speed of plot again, I want you to somehow explain to me how /nasa/ communicated with the rest of the nations in the little time they were here without the use of long-range devices.
Also the agreed upon year is 1120, following a past vote we've had, though the respective tech level to irl can be anything and the ers of around 1750 had been chosen iirc
