I think the threat is less that they can compete with Hololive and more that they can hobble and trip them up. If over the next couple years, there are a few more graduations and 66% of the fans of those members stick with Cover and 33% follow their talent (and if she goes to VShojo) then Hololive's dominant position will gradually slide.

VShojo won't be the death of Hololive by any means but it may be the poisoned dagger in the back to hobble it for another Vtuber company, maybe one that doesn't exist yet, to blow past Hololive.
