This is the problem. Not the idol culture, but rather tailoring a small business strategy around trying to retread steps that have already been taken. It's like Hololive and Niji with their proprietary apps. In a competitive field, innovation and iconicism are key. After all, the point of a small business is to use their lighter weight to run circles around the competition and take advantage of market inefficiencies.
