i don't know if this has been discussed before but i think sana might actually be autistic, the way she interacts in Collab's always reminds me of the mid-functioning autistic friend i had growing up, she will talk over others when excited, and has trouble coming up with comebacks to unanticipated questions and can make things a bit awkward in a way that the other person they collab with has to pick up the slack, i love her and really enjoy her nice and comfy attitude but some of her interactions can go beyond ditzy and into cringy, but at the same time it makes her feel like one of the most genuine and gives off less of the manufactured-person vibe i get from some other members.

Totally agree. I'm pretty sure I'm autistic and on the sameish level of functioning, and Sana is so approachable and genuine for me. The other girls are sort of scary (not that they are frightening, but in the way popular girls in school were scary- I can't keep up with their baseline, and end up getting intimidated). If I had to guess the actual reason, it'd be that even though Cover are satisfied and wanted her to stay on, Sana may not be satisfied with her output given the circumstances. Putting out work that doesn't meet your own personal standards of either quality or quantity can be extremely demoralizing, especially if it's a result of some external problem like health that's clipping your wings.
This is largely baseless speculation on my part and I hope it's wrong, that there's a more pragmatic time management decision or something behind it. Her content has been very good throughout, fairly distinct in tone, and steadily improving in consistency despite the relatively low volume - which her solid live viewership numbers out of proportion to her subs versus other vtubers attests to. It'd be really shit if stress about quality or perceived success was the issue because it's a really cruel thing to do to yourself in any situation and it's rarely truly justified, least of all in this case.

I think we can tell she probably has a degree of autism in regards to work, because of how hyperfocused she becomes on a task at the detriment of her own health. However, it's important to note that a lot of these traits we're listing aren't necessarily byproducts of that. Some things she does I can see as potentially autistic, ADHD, or dyslexic, but other behaviors like "being cringy" have far too many potential sources to be worth counting. She also appears very comfortable being expressive and empathetic, by what we can tell, which on paper would already make her less autistic than some of the other girls.

On that note, we're listing mostly perceived negative traits, but autism can exhibit a large number of extremely positive traits for streaming as well that might be overlooked because we see them as fitting for the medium. honestly if she had preluded any of her long breaks with collabcrams like this one, most people wouldn't mind her taking a hiatus now. that was sort of her mentality before Christmas break with the Pokemon permissions. Bae and Fauna are pretty good about grinding content before their breaks too, and that works.

the back hurting break was a big problem because after kimonos and arceus Sana just went silent for weeks, even on roommate twitter. all she needed to do was keep people more in the loop.

it's just a shame we're getting all of these great streams now and then afterwards Sana is gone. I kinda worry that graduating won't give her the best read on what she could have improved, and she'll walk away thinking she didn't have the right talent or something.
