I think it depends on the streamer. Someone like Moriko had a very fast chat even at 200-250 viewers, and she was able to catch up to it. Nina is bordering on 500 now but her chat's the same speed as it was a year ago. Koragi doesn't have the fastest chat and is only around 75-100, but she still misses a lot of messages while focusing on the game or her own jokes.

How do you guys feel about sound clips on streams? I like to think I'm a cozy streamer but I'm more worried about coming off boring to the average viewer. Streaming is really chill for me but I do want to be entertaining, And my statistic are showing I do get a lot of views, I'm just not retaining them. From a viewers perspective i think its fun to take jabs at the chuba but at the same time i feel like it could get tiring reacting if you no longer feel like it. Kind of like those items thrown at the chuba, i see it kind of exhausting to pretend like you got hurt or distracted by it.

I don’t know if I’m talking to another vtuber or not. Viewers don’t realize how hard it is to carry the stream from behind the scenes. A lot of talking done is stream is really just stalling until someone in chat responds and gives them content to work with. Legitimately, the best advice I have had is to start writing topics down before stream that you can go to if you run out of ideas of what to talk about. Also another tip, if you ask a question, IMMEDIATLY continue the conversation, do not wait for a response.

"Haha this dude in the game has bad taste in desserts. Hey chat, any of you like ice cream? What's your favorite flavor? My favorite is -" and then talk about flavors, desserts, favorite places related, maybe funny stories if you have any, etc. This is good even if you have a 0 viewers, you don't really need the chat interaction but you do want chat to feel included and give invitation to chat to join the conversation.

I know how to segway topics in a stream because I’ve done it longer than you have. You naturally pick up these techniques when you think of ways to fill up dead air. But expecting the same level of quality for HOURS is impossible. At some point in the stream, eventually you have to get creative about things to talk about and that’s where the stuff on the screen comes in. Ever wonder why a lot of streamers stream video games? Because they can talk about that when they run out of things to talk about. I built a program actually a barely held together google sheet containing a list of "150 questions to get to know your date" and a random generator to pluck one; and have a hotkey to open that sheet up.
They don't segue at all into conversation. But if you can pivot to the question (I was talking with someone at work today, chat, and they asked me... as a low-effort), then you ask chat, provide your answer, and first date questions are designed to give more information.

My favourite restaurant ever was this Brazilian buffet I went to a few years back. ((Have you ever been to a Brazilian restaurant, chat?)). Unlike a lot of AYCE, this one would bring the main to your table, although you still had the salad and carb bars over the other side of the room. They bring out these great big spitted bits of meat, and carve it for you at the table. But it wasn't just on a spit, they'd bring it on these giant fucking swords, which was really odd because none of the rest of the place was military themed. They had all sorts of meats on this, and they'd cook it however you wanted it ((I tend to like my steak medium if I do it myself, but I'll order it blue/rare at a good restaurant, how about you?)); and they even had some food I'd never tried before! Firstly, they had chicken hearts, which were really small, and it feels like a lot of effort to make them, because surely you don't get through many chickens at once? Secondly, cinnamon coated pineapple rings, which aren't flavours I would think go together. ((How about you guys, any food combinations you've found on a meal out?))

You have multiple branching points to ask for information from viewers, but you can just keep going until they come back with something. Stay smooth in transitioning between topics though

This is the best way to “ad-lib” conversations topics on stream.
