Hi, sorry I didn't respond earlier. That makes sense, but I guess part of what I'm wondering now is how substitutable different glyphs and activators are for a specified effect. How much margin of error does a glyph have? Is there any reason one particular set of lines works better than another? I suppose at some level it will have to end up being a black box of magic: the glyph works because that's what happens to connect to the proper concept. Still, it's interesting to think about edge cases. Another thing I wonder about is how easy it is to achieve a working effect. If I just start touching chuubanite to random objects or scribble random designs on it, can I expect anything to happen?

I wouldn't know where to start regarding the decay chain of vitubium, but we have established that stable elements like lead lessen its effects. Does chuubanite get used up in these reactions, like if we start with a vitubium-bonded rock of chuubanite then do we still have the rock after the vitubium is depleted? Perhaps there are certain substances which naturally attract vitubium particles or magic quanta and accumulate a sort of charge over time. So a mount mori diamond starts out a normal diamond, bonds with nearby mori vitubium, gets its stores used up, then passively regains its potency again so long as it stays in areas with a relatively high concentration. Does that conflict with the current interpretation? Maybe the vitubium itself is created by the quanta field, but idk if that makes any sense.

if it looks reasonably like the thing it is depicting, i suppose. taking inspiration from the world of forms means an ideal would exist, maybe it would be more powerful the better the craftsman, but it would work still if it was crude and imprecise.

trial and error is always a good option, but the glyphs and substances have a unifying concept attached to them, so you should be able to intuit or rationalize your way into an easier time finding the glyphs and substances you are looking for. i always figured glyphs would have a tendency towards basic symbols that inherently symbolize certain concepts by their design.
the symbol for chaos is arrows pointing in all 8 of the cardinal directions, signifying disunion and a degree of unpredictability. if you know much about junji ito, an outward spiral gets progressively bigger towards infinity, whereas an inward spiral gets progressively smaller towards a black dot meant to signify that which cannot be depicted, still headed for infinity but never reaching it.
obviously, this wouldn't be how every glyph would be depicted, but most of them would have a sort of intuitive connection to whatever concept they represent, so most people, especially those who live in nations guided by that concept, and should therefore be expected to understand it the best, should be able to intuitively figure out what the best options are as far as what they can try first. educated trial and error is science, so to speak.

That said after I calmed down I'm going to have to accept that /nasa/ is evil. Which sucks because I have nostalgia for good vs evil. Maybe I'm just sick of living in a world where everyone is evil and only the most evil can win. And with the way things are looking in Vitubia that might be how things really are. If evil has taken over /nasa/'s government then will there be good Sanalites to stop it? There are ways to replicate meat if you have the DNA. And yet the best quality of meat is always fresh cut.

First I still want to vote. I don't really see the problem with my votes. Usually with other threads and territories I like to know what's fair with how they are arranged. My only problem is /nasa/'s lore.

Second is making a general /nasa/ "who are we" document that says where we came from, why we are here, and list what we need to do before we get back to the stars. I've reviewed the general document. And I think we can split it up or reorganize it to make it more readable. The "who are we" document will also have a list of resources to trade for easier deals as well as answer the general prompts via Q&A section.

Third I want to split the Grand Directive into its own seperate document and rewrite its language to be more streamlined clear. I'm not going to rewrite it as a legal document. It will be as clear as the first 10 constitutional amendments. Short simple and to the point with no ambiguous language.

Its going to take me a bit to streamline the details to slash out the complication. My primary method of storytelling with the /nasa/ principal logs are over. However I would like to go back to that way of storytelling. That method has caused the least amount of confusion. I still have longer stories for character interaction. But bigger policy changes in /nasa/ will be written as logs. And as always the documents will be amendable.

I just need some time to figure things out. But that's the plan so far.

With a shim and a buzz, the suited man shuts down the psychic set. Not willing to negotiate further with the operative on the other side of the reciver, the Sanalite hands over the communicator back to its owner. Disappointed, she place the device back into her sack. The Matiyotlingur priestess tried to mediate a possible negotiation but alas, they still do not trust her enough to enact such a wild plan.

With her head still high, Xohildr takes her leave and goes to the one place where she can calm her mind; the medical bay. As she enters, the woman enthusiastically takes in the scent of formalin and formaldehyde. Such a wondrous combination of chemicals. The kind she could not experience back home. A loud thump bellows as she lies face first into the bean bag lying on the room's floor. The spacemen truly has the most amazing commodities.

Taking the tiara looking communicator out and wearing it on her head, Xohildr starts dowsing the local psychosphere for any active adventurers. Specifically those that match her beliefs. Two rings in her head. One from the immediate South and another from the far East. The priestess decides to go for the nearest psyche to the South. Focusing her mind onto the target, she awaits for any response.

"Cualitoa herra systir" the telepathic voice echoes in her mind. "Ayang, cualitoa herra systir" echoes the words of the priestess as she speaks with her mind. Another Matiyotlingur adventuress.

"To whom am I speaking with?" Xohildr asks. The reply came back in a matter of seconds. "Topilljorg. Faithful Skemmdarvargur of the Matiyotl Abbeytoir. Current operation; Surveying the enchanted woods of the Kirin." Xohildr receives glimpses of trees, with men of bark and leaves in-between. "Ayang?" She asks for a reply.

"Xohildr. Tlamacazqui Komma." she said telepathically.

"A priestess? Spreading the true faith far from home I hope so." Topilijorg answers positively.

"Mayhap. The locals are affixed with some of our rites. Some of their people even adopted our vegvisir." Xohildr recalls some of her memories, sharing the experience with Topilijorg.

"Curious people. Descended from the stars, methodically by the book, prone to rivalry I see. What seems to be the issue, young one?" she asks Xohildr.

"To summarise-ish, the locals accidentally caused a diplomatic incident. Something not particularly huge to begin with. A murder. Could be brushed off as a civil crime. Yet the embassy and the government got involved." she thinks while her mouth sighs.

"I see. Surely expecting a war to come out of this is... overblown. Every seasoned diplomat understands that not every diplomatic scandal should end in bloodshed. Unless the authorities condoned it."

"Well... the local authority is currently broken. A state of emergency, and so on. Discord and controlled anarchy seeps in the system. Those who are not supposed to represent do so, and those who are supposed to are preoccupied with maintaining the last sense of order."

"Such chaos..." a short pause between thoughts occur before a reply resumes. "Xohildr... how much of our faith have you shared?" Topilijorg asks.

"So far, only rituals were shared. Spiritually these men are still strong. But I do see an opening in their beliefs. Potentially a loophole in their sacred Grand Directive. What do you suggest?"

"Share the word of The End. Perhaps through organisation, you could help bring order. It may not be a full Chapter. But through stability, it is enough to convince them. If there are many who sees you as the reliable person you are, they will listen to you. The men who now carry our knowledge and vegvisir on their skin, they shall be the first of many."

"Dainty, yet extremely optimistic. I'll see what I can do, and Topilijorg, thank you."

With a deep breath, Xohildr takes the tiara of her temples. She will start with the library. The tattooed Sanalites are usually there. She will have busy days ahead.

Cassandra was not taking any of it. Her eyes piercing into the priestess' own.

Retaliating, Xohildr takes the psychic communicator off her head and hands it over to her. "Psychic communicator. Standard issue for any registered member in adventurers guilds." Cassandra inspects the device in her hand. It looks primitive, merely a crown with pieces of chuubanite forming a crude 'circuit'. "We adventurers take logistics seriously."

Putting it on her head, Cassandra immediately feels its effects. Staggering back, she felt her mind going inwards and immediately outwards. Like a radar going off. Not risking any permanent side-effects from this native artifact, she instantly removes it from her temples. Grabbing the desk as she regains her consciousness.

"Neat little Vtubium application your guild got here. Some cheap knockoff telephone." Cassandra dozily remarks as she hands the device back to her. "But pray tell, sweetie. Who was on the other end?" she asks, a slight taint of anger in her voice.
