I think the idea is more just to fill lots of niches. Some individuals may not be a fan of a clown, a koala, a dog or a crossdresser but there is certainly an audience that will be. You can get your cute girls, your cool girls, your high school girls and guys, your lolis, your manly men, your effiminate men all under one roof. You can get your fps, rpg, retro game, rhythm game players etc, talking focused, skillful singing, trend followers. Whatever your bag is you can probably find someone who does/is something close to that.

Nijisanji does announcements at 12pm Japan time on Thursday for their Japanese branch, it's different for their foreign branches like ID. It could happen tomorrow but I wouldn't hold out for it being during the usual Japanese branch announcement time.

The models were announced in NijiFes back in February so it's safe to say that the tech was ready or atleast near ready while they were still doing auditions in January-February. Bonnivier's a dude so skill at FPS isn't as a big a draw compared to a female and there's alot of Diamond vtubers already. Bora's a Master and quickly showed she's currently the top female APEX vtuber over Noah with her performances in tourneys she participated in. I passed only the first round of Nijisanji auditions back in December/January. I am a female. They contacted me with some follow-up questions in December and then didn't reply back to me further until January. Based on the schedule-timeline they sent me, as well as what I was told in the interview, none of the models were completely finished as of mid-late January. Their planned debut was around this time but it seemed like there was some sort of delay. I believe from now until next month they will debut. As for picks, just look at graduations and I bet a few are in the lineup. I am excited for them I think they will be at least ok quality.

I like Nijisanji but holy shit are their character designs bad. Half the time they don't even bother getting a quality artist and the design is ugly looking and has a fucked up looking face.
