I always imagined the scenario something like this (not a fic, just an outline):

Miko is a lesbian virgin that masturbates yuri hentai while Pekora is a straight, but innocent and insecure girl. I cut it off there because it was already getting long for a spontaneous outline, and because I wanted to leave the ending somewhat open - though it definitely is trending towards a bad ending in my thoughts. Pekora just needs time (and maybe counseling) to realise what has happened - that she was violated, her trust broken by her best friend who had hid her true feelings. At first her platonic love for Miko, and her attempts to cope with the trauma by telling herself that it wasn't that bad, would be too strong. The feeling that a character's portrayed inaccurately, or at least not coming through properly in the text, is definitely a flaw and can hamper the enjoyment of writing and reading (sometimes to the point where you might as well replace names in a better-written fic instead).
That's pretty much common sense. The question is, what triggers that feeling in someone, and how strongly or quickly? It's ultimately a matter of taste, so I won't fault anyone for feeling like they lack source material.

I have an idea for an enormous fucking story that I've been building in my head for about half a year now. It has a multitude of characters, most of which get their own full arcs (at least 10k words of plot each) and stay relevant throughout the entire story, along with a massive overarching plot that is full of twists and shounen level hype.
