for me it's just comfort and horniness. i'm not sure i've ever actually experience the thing, though there is a certain feeling i get when i feel like i'm falling asleep with someone's ambient sounds (like a mug clinking) and sleepy chatter/breathing next to me, but it don't fit the description of "asmr". it's just sort of... comfy and nostalgic feeling?

White noise is bland to me. I have a theory that the variance and not entirely knowing what to expect might be a key part of triggering ASMR. Scratching and tapping for example follows different rhythms and what not. Also I've been listening to ASMR for a decade so I've become accustomed to it.

Patra's ASMR often helps me sleep, I sometimes listen to it to relax during the evening too.
