Going back to the last threads discussion. What actually does a company like say Phase Connect or even VShoujo need to do to create a Box of their own? If viewer retention on a given stream is 15 minutes, the stream is 50k CCV average, and it's 1 hour long, does that mean you should be able to extrapolate the number of VoD views out to 200k post processing?

Contrarily, can you do this kind of conversion on a stream's VoD views by dividing the views by 15/30/1 hour increments to determine the 'estimated real CCV', or just divide the number of views by the CCV to determine churn rate?

For example, a stream with CCV of 10k, a length of 2 hours, with 150k views 24h later, if you divide the view number by the CCV you have 15, divide 120 minutes by 15 and you get 8 minutes per total churn. Guessing that true churn is 15 minutes and dividing 120 minutes again to get a total churn of 8, dividing 150k to get ~17k estimated real CCV.

I assume if you took the average churn rate of all JP talents and compared it to EN talents you'd see disproportionate theoretical churn from EN, need to check. I think this calculation is useful

This is unrelated but I checked that thread out and it struck me that NijiEN just doesnt exist there at all, and that is the general vtuber subreddit. And there is over a thousand comments about HoloEN in that same thread.
And that got me thinking. How does NijiEN generate so minimal discussion? Im talking about the girls now not the chinese fagfellas. They doesnt do THAT bad in CCV, like Selen had a 4k median CCV this month, and most of the others are like 1-3k streamers. 4chan seems to be one of the places NijiEN gets the most relative discussions but it is still probably literal hundreds of times more discussions about HoloEN. On reddit there is probably 1000 times more comments about HoloEN than NijiEN. Bae gets like 7k median CCV but a normal clip from one of her streams will get more views than like two months combined of Selen clips. Ina gets maybe 5 times the viewers Elira gets on most streams but in a single day Ina gets more tweets than Elira has gotten in her entire existance.
How the fuck does NijiEN not generate any form of discussions AT ALL? Like does their fans just not exist on the internet? You can't, it's a guess, but Millie had 18 minutes on the example shown here. If you wanted you could run the calculation for multiple assumed churn times, in order to get a range from most optimistic guess at around 30 minutes churn time, to most pessimistic guess of 5 minutes churn time, then do the division of CCV to Total Views after 24 hours to figure out what the apparent churn rate is on a stream.

This is all very inaccurate obviously, but if you can run the math for every variable at different points you can get a range with upper and lower bounds.

I think that's why debuting a group is a good idea because then it initially helps as you would see the individual and the group they were in, and Hololive's constriction of not being able to collab outside of the group helps as it already makes them make a core audience within that group before spreading out.

Youtube is, first and foremost, a video viewing site where most people watch videos of 10-20 minutes in length, and this affects how long people stick around for a livestream.

If you only look at live watchers you will always always underestimate how big HoloEN actually is. Probably 95% or more of HoloENS fans are clipfags and only rarely watch streams. For NijiEN there just doesnt exist any form of clip culture. So every NijiEN fan is probably a livestream watcher.
