Can someone recommend me a budget screen drawing tablet under $200? I currently use a Wacom Bamboo and I love it, only problem is it doesn't have a screen. I think I got it for $40 years ago. i though you were using a android or ipad tablet, these tablets lack a good pressure on the pen, making the lineart like yours with really low lineweight like if it was made with no pressure enabled, if it was donde un porpose then forget this, but if not you should try csp you can tune the pens/brush presure settings for a superb lineart

I'm actually trying to dial in the pressure sensitivity curves as we speak. For some reason my brain doesn't like too much with pens but I it's fine with pencil. For sketches I don't both too much since I assume I'll constantly be erasing and redrawing as I fix basic pose and anatomy stuff. Also can't decide on a brush width. A4 300 dpi 7-10px seems nice for cartoony style or sketches but when I color it seems way to thick. If I go down to 3,4,5 px range I feel like there's not enough range for the outline vs fine details. Any suggestions welcome. I think that sketch was mostly just done with a 7px brush

(same guy) actually I might do the lineart on this one just for practice. Another problem I've noticed is in an effort to get smooth confident lines I actually end up using much more pressure than when I'm just chickenscratching and doing basic shaping. Hence why the breasts have super thick dark uniform lines: I redrew them like a dozen times trying to get them smooth.

you don't need to make perfect lines in one stroke is easier just do multiple lines to form one, don't mistake it with chicken scratching, if you use a the same lineweight with no variation in the thickness, it looks like everything has the same texture, for example the little folds in the tits in this picure are done with thin lines because that area is not really that hard pressed and is barelly noticeable, same with that hank of hair, using thinn lines to depict the fine strings of hair can make a huge difference instead of just using the same line thiccness.
You can use the same lineweight for the entire lineart but you need to know how to do it right.

Ah was finally getting used to stylus on glass vs pencil on paper so trying to control my weights is still a struggle but I did notice even Ina connects her long lines a lot. Still have issues with zooming too much too but I'm going to give this study some work, need the practice.

i don't think theres a specific name for it but its something like contour lines and is really easy to understand, if you look at this pic is easy to get it, basically be able to visualise forms to get a 3D mental image of it.

For example drawing a countour line on a box is easy as fuck because everyone knows how does a box looks like, the next example is something similar to a box but still fairly easy and you can visualise the countour line even if is flipped, now applying this to a leg you can get useful land marks, as you can see the knee is not aligned in the center of the leg is kinda close to inner leg, and so on with the other countour lines, in the rectangle box i used these countour lines as landmarks to construct a leg, technically speaking if you use the data correctly you can get a 100% accurate drawing but is not something you should obsess with, the point is being able to visualise these forms on your mind, those circles and axis i drew on the pic you posted are contour lines and landmarks, like the contour line on the pelvis, also is easy to show forms in that way if you want to redline something, so they are just the end result of that lol.

i used a pic from here as an example in the bottom drawing, as you can see you cant see the thigh even though the knee is looking directly at the viewer, from that angle it should be seen. these kind of things are really easy to spot and draw once you start thinking in this way, all you need is a anatomy book wit tons of different angles, the rest is just practice, really tedious and boring desu. if you just eye ball everything and you also have poor anatomy knowledge it's going to end like shit even doing simple stuff like you said you are just guessing, knowing anatomy is just the first step.

Heh I drew that wonky leg, the problem was I started with a reference where she was sinking back into the bed a little more so at that angle it wasn't visible, but over two or three passes of trying to fix the sketch and pose, things drifted out of position. Wait that character's head is too high, but now the torso doesn't really work, okay I'll just change the angle a bit, oh shit that leg is way too long, and so on. I think it's a side effect of chicken scratching a lot in the rough, which means to some extent the actual pose wasn't really well defined, and zooming too much in general. By the time I was on lineart I was hyperfocused on drawing smooth lines. Heh, there's a lot more jacked up than that leg in that drawing but much like mirroring it's weird how your brain just starts ignoring shit after a while.

As someone who's anatomy knowledge way outstrips their drawing ability I will say most drawing anatomy especially for females can be pretty drastically simplified. And man a lot of anime art and lewds especially cheat like crazy, especially with torso rotation. At the end of the day I don't get too worried about not drawing perfect anatomy when I'm still struggling with stuff like: a straight line. A square. A circle. I feel like actually doing the classic art exercises with probably help me develop faster, but drawing dumb shit is more fun
