It's not sudden. The branch was taking this direction since Obsydia dropped and you didn't notice the warning signs. The guerilla collab culture was always a bad sign since it meant they were going to follow the ID model instead of the JP model and you just didn't mind the poor direction because you enjoyed the talents themselves.

Hiring practices were obviously going to shit too after Ethyria came out. Ethyria were awful hires on paper that happened to work out decently enough in reality when they came out, but hiring two girls with piss for streaming experience, a heavy ESL and a political streamer was just signs that they'd start fishing for numbers over capabilities as time goes on. Luxiem performed extremely well when they released but most of the boys couldn't stream for shit on debut even compared to your average 2 view, and it pointed the branch at thhe CN market. Noctyx came out and got angled towards that audience immediately before getting a chance to define themselves.

The next waves from the last audition are certainly going to be a bunch of 100k+ content creators plucked out from the scene so they can carry audience for their start instead of the smaller creators that Lazulight/Obsydia were, probably with some weird diversity decisions like a transgender character and some sassy black woman.
