After a while you start to realize that very few males(male) type the way twitter females(female) do, and you can even tell by the art style sometimes. So if you recognize certain patterns but see a "he/they/anything other than she" in their bio then it's most likely a female larping as a male or whatever gender they made up in the morning. For Japanese artists, just scroll down their media tab and check if they have pictures of their oshi's merch at a cafe or event with a fuckton of filters on. Those are female a 100% of the time.

Holocure is really making me want a stars game so I decided to make one with rpg maker, but I'm stuck on the concept.

Options:
1. Jrpg
Typical start at lv 1, get party members, defeat boss.
2. Murder mystery
Someone dies, talk to people to find clues and alibis, figure out who's lying, etc.
3. Puzzle (horror) game like Ib
Solve puzzles, maybe add jumpscares, chases, etc.
4. Walking sim
Just a story where you go from event to event, with dialogue, basically an interactive vn

Originally I wanted to do a cutesy game centering around their mascots but then shogun would be left out. (Might still do this)

If you go the mascot route, you could have shogun as the playable character. Since you're looking to avoid writing dialogue, a JRPG focused on giving the party members unique moves and combo attacks could be cool. Maybe the goal can be for shogun to save the other stars by teaming up with the mascots?

I'm not too familiar with the limitations of rpg maker, but if you can use other game engines too, a potential avenue you could pursue is a collect-a-thon platforming game, or something procedurally generated?

So I do have some suggestsions of genre/concept but also want to add in this. It doesn't need to include all the Stars/Uproar as playable or involved. Holocure works that way due to what it is but it comes at a cost of its going to take forever to complete.

For a genre suggestion, how about a platformer based on the idea of Sonic Advance 3 (where the two characters team up and get different abilities and progress through the level) could work.

Or a Mega Man/X/Zero inspired game with SunTempo as the playable. Astel (X inspired), Tenma (Zero inspired) and Roberu (Axl inspired) could work and be unique. If you go the Zero route you could keep the rest of Stars, Shinove, and any HoloLive cameos (Ie: Bae taking over Roberu's bar or Fubiki being in charge of upgrades alongside Oga or something) you want in the base as NPCs. Or you can replace Roberu with Shien as is the suntempo way.

and for JRPG you could make so its a five man party, one from each gen while Gen1 gets 2 due to having two sets of Debuts. Easily could make it something Like "In a time of boredom, Shien decides to restart his Bl mafia schemes using his patented Handsome Voice to brainwash as many of the stars as possible. Only Oga (tank), Astel (DPS), Izuru (Buffer), and Rikka (Debuffer) and Rio (Magic) can stop him now."

Basically Grombus had to talked to management about it before its current build, when it was even more of a VS clone. They took a look at all the info and said it would most likely be denied as it was too much of a pure VS clone.
There seems to be actual criteria and stuff too it ranging from references made (are Rushia, Suzaku, Aloe, or Kaoru in it?), how orginal or lifting from the base game is it, and probally creator intent.

If you are refering to Kay's answer about Rushia and Coco it was purposefully vague. Rushia was terminated and Japan has bullshit copyright/actor laws about making profits off people no longer in the comapny. Its why no one could play the Holonight Funkin mod for FNF until there was a fubuki mode.

There's an Asacoco Plug-type item in the game. If that isn't a blatant reference to Coco than I don't know what is. For Rushia it's more a subtle cutting board (as subtle as an elephant in a 4x4 room), but since that's more of a joke related to her than one could say it's not a direct reference.

Yes those two items exist as does Aloe's headphones. But the headphones and cutting boards don't even try to reference those two, where as Asacoco is blatant and in 3 places. But on the other hand multiple girls including Suisei were called it too, why it works for all flat characters.

Or they can just add stars as a DLC. So those who don't wish to see them in the game can still play the game. End of story.
