Yeah it sucks, I want to give her a big hug and talk to her about all the cats and pets I've lost over the years. She's in the immediate stage of grief though, blaming herself, wondering if she could have done anything different, feeling guilty about sometimes not giving them attention cause she was busy even though she definitely gave it a great life and lots of love and a good home. The stage where you're insistent you can never get another pet cause it'd be replacing or bad in some way even though other pets deserve the safe and loving home you have to offer just like that one did.
And she's had a hard life so it's hitting her even harder than usual. I feel like hugs and details of other peoples experiences would help her.
Whenever you get a pet you have to accept from the start its going to die, you live to like 80 and they live to not even 20 most of the time, it's inevitable. You can be sad about it and upset, but you can't let it completely break you and say you have no reason to live anymore because you knew it was inevitable at some point. If taking care of a nice pet was the reason to live, you wait a while, grieve then take care of more pets and continue that purpose. By the end of your life you'll have a large net positive impact on a bunch of animals lives that way. Alas I'm just some viewer and not her friend, I hope some of her friends irl or other chuubas have those conversations and hugs with her though

I live in Germany and had a friend with one of those sphinx cats.
Basically the cat was always sleeping under her blanket or literally on the heater in her room. It was cute yes, but I felt really bad for it, bc Germany is a relatively cold country and her cat never had any energy to do anything but sleep.
