Not all forms of investment are publicly held. Some investment firms are privately managed AND held funds. It would be nice to allow mutual funds that are NOT public to sell shares to board members or just members.

Hey all, trial dev here.
Remember to post feature requests here and let us know of bugs for the new update (and general ones). I'll try clarify a few things in the morning about general interactions.
At the moment I believe the plan is to only generate dividends in a mutual fund if it is public (to prevent a private one abusing the low tax rate for full divs).
To buy shares from a fund, find one that is public and make an order (up to 1k per day), this transacts at 4pm server time, you can adjust this by changing the number and submitting again.
Divs get paid out to shareholders, and a lot of QOL stuff will be planned for later when we have more time to do so.

Hi-
I would like to address some concerns with how public and private funds distribute shares and dividends and how we have decided to change the mechanics slightly to make it less exploitable. Now, the CEO of a company will only receive the starting shares they set up when they make the fund public. A private company will not receive dividends to its balance, they will just go to no one. The fund must be public at the time of dividends in order to receive them. For any funds that have already been made public, the CEOs should now have their shares. Other small things I fixed are some rounding errors on the fund balance updates, luna not showing up on the fund portfolio page, and the typo on "Portfolio".

OK, it's not just you. I tried Bromite and Firefox at 2560xsomething and NASFAQ is completely unusable on both. Even with "Use Desktop Mode". As far as I can tell, there's no "desktop style" zoom control in mobile browsers. Even Edge didn't work, and it's such shit on mobile that I didn't even want to try

Before you do anything, go to Settings -> Accessibility, and enable "Zoom on all websites". You WILL need to zoom in after we're done.

Log into NASFAQ and save your password, since using the log in screen or chat will be a PITA once this is set up. Navigate to your mutual fund portfolio. Do not enable "Desktop site" in Firefox, it will mess with the DPR setting we're changing.

Open a new tab and go to "about:config". In the search box, type or paste "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx". Tap the Modify button I didn't have a modify button, I had to tap directly on the "-1.0" and change the value to 1.0. Typically, you just need to delete the - sign. Tap the OK button.

Switch back to your mutual fund tab.

If 1.0 DPR isn't low enough, you SHOULD technically be able to go fractional. ie. 0.9, 0.8, etc. Adjust it down until the pixel ratio is low enough to force the buy/sell buttons to display, and then pinch-to-zoom as needed to actually use the site. If you go down to e.g. 0.5 then at your device resolution, it will try and squeeze picrel into your screen. You will have to zoom a looooooooot.

I hope that makes sense.

There is no fundamental logic to having other individuals in your mutual fund especially once an autotrader comes around. These will allow you to filter things such as "My Funds", "Public-Only Funds", "Funds with [Oshimark]", and also perform a 1-character fund name search (purchase multiple times to add additional characters, up to 10). Each of these filters costs $5~50m.
You can also now purchase an Editing license for a small fee of $15m that allows you to edit your Fund's mission statement once.

You can now buy breeding licences for 100m on the leaderboard page. These allow you to claim ownership of another player if they also buy one in your name. This will add a heart to both of your names with hover text in the leaderboard like in the Valentines update.
