It hurts a lot when you blame yourself...I had a parakeet since he was almost a newborn, and for some reason knew how to play football with marbles, knew how to fly to people's finger when you raised one, called you to play... lots of weird shit that should have required training, but he just knew. He was really special. Basically, the reason why this medication works is because the active ingredient (maropitant citrate) has an extremely similar chemical structure to an essential neurotransmitter in cats that causes vomiting, called "substance P."
